How much does the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 10.09% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,571 listings available, which suggests you should have a solid range of choices.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

The Santa Fe’s full redesign gives you a bold, blocky look, a longer wheelbase, standard third-row seating, and a “terrace” approach to passenger and cargo space. That makes it a strong fit if you want a family SUV that emphasizes style and packaging as much as utility.

The trade-offs are clear: the third row is cramped, performance is described as pedestrian, and top trims can get expensive. Even so, the combination of fresh design, added space, and strong feature content makes it appealing if you want a modern midsize SUV with flexibility.

34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which is a decent sign of market opportunity.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Santa Fe’s redesign pairs its new packaging with a broad set of standard features, and Hyundai’s vehicles typically fare well in safety evaluations. It also brings a strong mix of technology and driver-assistance equipment across the lineup, which supports confidence in day-to-day ownership.

Its performance setup is straightforward, with a turbocharged four-cylinder, standard front-wheel drive, and available all-wheel drive. The model also offers a hybrid powertrain later in the year, giving you more flexibility if you want to balance capability and efficiency.

If you buy used, the main long-term risk is choosing a trim that stretches your budget without adding the features you actually need.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or a top trim. Focus on condition, feature operation, and whether the equipment level matches what you want, since the Santa Fe’s trim spread changes the ownership experience quite a bit.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE gives you the redesigned Santa Fe’s bold styling and standard third row, while the SEL adds synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, the curved panoramic display, a wireless smartphone charger, and an upgraded rear occupant alert system. The XRT adds dark chrome and black cladding and trim, while Limited and Calligraphy versions bring larger wheels and a more upscale presentation.
• Powertrain: The standard setup is a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 277 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is optional, and the XRT gets all-wheel drive standard. A hybrid powertrain is also offered later in the model year.
• Safety package: The base SE includes a reversing camera, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, forward collision-avoidance assist, intersection assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, safe-exit assist, lane-keep assist, lane-following assist, driver-attention monitoring with hands-off alert, and a rear-occupant reminder system. The SEL adds an upgraded rear-occupant reminder system, forward-attention warning, and side-view mirrors with turn signals. The XRT adds Hyundai’s highway limited hands-free driving system, while Limited and Calligraphy trims add more advanced camera and parking features.
• Infotainment: Higher trims get a curved panoramic display, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, a 12-speaker Bose stereo, dynamic voice recognition, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and six USB ports. The SE and SEL use a simpler 12.3-inch touchscreen, and all but the base SE get wireless charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The base front-wheel-drive version is rated at 20 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined. All-wheel drive drops that to 20/28/23, and the XRT is rated at 19/26/22. The hybrid is rated at 36 mpg city, 35 mpg highway, and 36 mpg combined with front-wheel drive, or 35/34/34 with all-wheel drive.

Which 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 5 trim levels: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the redesigned Santa Fe’s standard third row and a long list of driver-assistance features. It makes sense if you want the new shape and core safety tech at the lowest price.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim. It adds synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, the curved panoramic display, a wireless smartphone charger, and an upgraded rear occupant alert system, making it the sweet spot for most shoppers.
• XRT: Choose this if you want the more rugged look and the added off-road-oriented hardware and settings. It also gets all-wheel drive standard and Hyundai’s highway limited hands-free driving system.
• Limited: This trim is for you if you want a more upscale experience, with a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot view monitor, rain-sensing windshield wipers, parking sensors, reverse parking collision assist, remote automatic parking, and a sanitizing compartment in the glovebox.
• Calligraphy: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with a widescreen head-up display and upgraded blind-spot and forward collision avoidance systems. It’s the most feature-rich option, but it also pushes the price into expensive territory.

The base SE includes a strong standard safety package, while the SEL is the best balance of price and equipment for most buyers.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,571 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.09% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,430, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $30,430 sits slightly below last year's $33,846.

That price movement suggests the Santa Fe has become more accessible for used buyers, which can make it easier for you to buy at a favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, though, softer pricing means you should expect less upside than a year ago unless your vehicle is especially well equipped or exceptionally clean.

The Santa Fe’s strong feature content and broad appeal should help support demand, but top-trim pricing can limit how much value those versions retain relative to their original cost.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe has not yet been crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety or National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Santa Fe comes with a broad standard safety suite on the base SE, including a reversing camera, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, forward collision-avoidance assist, intersection assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, safe-exit assist, lane-keep assist, lane-following assist, driver-attention monitoring with hands-off alert, and a rear-occupant reminder system. The SEL adds an upgraded rear-occupant reminder system, forward-attention warning, and side-view mirrors with turn signals.

The XRT adds Hyundai’s highway limited hands-free driving system. Limited trims add a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot view monitor, rain-sensing windshield wipers, front, rear, and side parking sensors, reverse parking collision assist, remote automatic parking, and a sanitizing compartment in the glovebox. Calligraphy trims add a widescreen head-up display and upgraded blind-spot and forward collision avoidance systems.

Of note, the 2024 Santa Fe is the first Hyundai vehicle with driver monitoring, included across the lineup. If the system senses the driver is not paying attention or is incapacitated, it can escalate warnings and bring the vehicle to a stop.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign adds a longer wheelbase, standard third-row seating, and a more distinctive, upscale look.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $24,118, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $30,430 average.
• It emphasizes value, standard safety, and easy-to-use technology.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $31,802, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $30,430 average.
• It leans harder into bold styling and added family-focused space.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned Santa Fe’s new look, added space, and strong feature content, the 2024 is the right target. If your priority is lower purchase price, the 2023 is the better value play.
