How much does the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 9.98% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,469 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert rating is 8.2/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

The 2024 Santa Fe’s redesign gives you a bold, blocky look, a longer wheelbase, standard third-row seating, and a “terrace” approach to passenger and cargo space. It also brings impressive technology and multiple powertrain options, which makes it a flexible family SUV if you want something modern and distinctive.

The trade-offs are clear: the third row is cramped, performance is described as pedestrian, and top trims can get expensive.

With 38.4% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Santa Fe’s redesign emphasizes substance as well as style, with a longer wheelbase and added packaging flexibility that should help it work well as a family vehicle over time. The expert notes also point to a smooth, mostly stable driving experience and a well-executed overall package.

Its powertrain is described as smooth, with few misses in acceleration, throttle response, and shifting, which is a good sign for everyday dependability. Hyundai also includes a broad set of standard safety and driver-assistance features across the lineup, which can reduce ownership stress.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that higher-trim complexity and added features can mean more to inspect carefully before you buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report, confirm the trim and equipment match the listing, and inspect the cabin and electronics carefully. Pay extra attention to the third row, since space there is one of the model’s main compromises, and make sure all driver-assistance and infotainment features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE starts with a strong safety and tech baseline, while the SEL adds synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, the curved panoramic display, a wireless smartphone charger, and an upgraded rear occupant alert system that senses occupants. The XRT adds dark chrome and black cladding and trim, plus a more rugged look, while Limited and Calligraphy versions add larger wheels and more premium presentation.
• Powertrain: The gas model uses a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 277 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is optional, and the XRT gets AWD standard. The hybrid later adds a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder setup with an estimated 231 hp and 271 lb-ft.
• Safety package: The base SE includes a reversing camera, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, forward collision-avoidance assist, intersection assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, safe-exit assist, lane-keep assist, lane-following assist, driver-attention monitoring with hands-off alert, and a rear-occupant reminder system. The SEL adds an upgraded rear-occupant reminder system, forward-attention warning, and side-view mirrors with turn signals. The XRT adds Hyundai’s highway limited hands-free driving system. The Limited adds a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot view monitor, rain-sensing windshield wipers, parking sensors, reverse parking collision assist, and remote automatic parking. The Calligraphy adds a widescreen head-up display and upgraded blind-spot and forward collision avoidance systems.
• Infotainment: The cabin centers on a curved panoramic display in XRT, Limited, and Calligraphy trims. The system includes wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, a 12-speaker Bose stereo, dynamic voice recognition, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and six USB ports. SE and SEL trims use a simpler 12.3-inch touchscreen, and all but the base SE get wireless charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The gas model is EPA-rated at 20 mpg city and 29 mpg highway in FWD form, with AWD dropping to 20/28/23. The XRT is rated 19/26/22. The hybrid is rated 36 mpg city, 35 mpg highway, and 36 mpg combined with FWD, or 35/34/34 with AWD.

Which 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 5 trim levels: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, but it still gives you a strong safety suite and the core Santa Fe redesign. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the richer cabin presentation and extra convenience features found higher up.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim. For a relatively modest step up, it adds synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, the curved panoramic display, a wireless smartphone charger, and an upgraded rear occupant alert system that senses occupants.
• XRT: Choose this if you want the more rugged look and the added capability of Hyundai’s highway limited hands-free driving system. It also gets AWD standard and off-road modes, making it the trim to consider if you want the Santa Fe’s softer off-road focus.
• Limited: This is the trim to target if you want the most useful premium upgrades without going all the way to the top. The 360-degree camera system, blind-spot view monitor, parking sensors, remote automatic parking, and rain-sensing wipers make it especially appealing.
• Calligraphy: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with the widescreen head-up display and upgraded blind-spot and forward collision avoidance systems. It’s the most lavish Santa Fe, but it also pushes into expensive territory quickly.

The SEL is the best-value pick, while the Limited is the smart step-up if you want more convenience and parking tech.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 38.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,469 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.98% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,300, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $30,300 sits slightly below last year's $33,660.

That softer pricing suggests the Santa Fe has become more approachable for used buyers, which can help keep demand steady. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average.

The model’s broad appeal, strong feature content, and standard safety equipment should help support future buyer interest. Higher-trim examples may still hold attention well, but you’ll want to avoid overpaying if you care about resale later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe has not yet been crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Santa Fe comes with a broad standard safety suite across the lineup. The base SE includes a reversing camera, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, forward collision-avoidance assist, intersection assist, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking, safe-exit assist, lane-keep assist, lane-following assist, driver-attention monitoring with hands-off alert, and a rear-occupant reminder system.

The SEL adds an upgraded rear-occupant reminder system, forward-attention warning, and side-view mirrors with turn signals. The XRT adds Hyundai’s highway limited hands-free driving system. The Limited adds a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot view monitor, rain-sensing windshield wipers, parking sensors, reverse parking collision assist, and remote automatic parking. The Calligraphy adds a widescreen head-up display and upgraded blind-spot and forward collision avoidance systems.

One caveat is that the traffic-sign recognition system occasionally misread Tennessee state route signs during testing.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign adds a longer wheelbase, standard third-row seating, and a more distinctive, premium-looking cabin.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $24,023, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $30,300 average.
• It emphasizes value, standard safety, and easy-to-use technology.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $31,648, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $30,300 average.
• It leans harder into bold styling and added family-focused interior space.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest design, more space, and strong feature content, the 2024 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less, the 2023 is the smarter value play. If you want the latest version of the same bold formula and don’t mind paying more, the 2025 is worth a look.
