How much does the 2024 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

With 5,979 listings available, you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.5/5 owner-rated car with an 8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the Civic’s smooth manual shifting, great gas mileage, and appealing new look and interior design. The car also gets credit for being fun to drive and easy to live with, which fits its role as a compact sedan that still feels engaging in everyday use.

The trade-offs are clear: road and wind noise can be noticeable, and the driver-assistance tech can be irritating in practice. Even so, the Civic Si formula works well if you want a compact car that blends daily usability with enthusiast appeal.

With 38.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still room to find a strong value if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable in the ways that matter most to used buyers: it’s praised for its smooth manual shifting, good gas mileage, and overall satisfying driving experience. That kind of repeat-positive feedback usually suggests a car you can count on for everyday use.

The expert evaluation also supports that impression by describing the Civic Si as surprisingly docile in urban and suburban driving and well suited to daily-driver duty. Honda Service Pass with complimentary scheduled maintenance for the first two years and 24,000 miles adds a useful ownership perk.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is not broad reliability failure but whether a specific car has been driven hard or maintained poorly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Honda Civic?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate, because accident-free listings are common but not guaranteed. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a car with higher mileage, modified parts, or signs of hard use. Focus on brake condition, tire wear, and overall cabin and exterior condition, since this model is meant to be driven enthusiastically.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Civic Si stands out with stealthy sport styling, red interior accents, metal pedal covers, and an aluminum shift knob, while the cabin still keeps a high-quality feel. The base setup does not bring all-wheel drive, and the enthusiast-focused character is the main reason to step up.
• Powertrain: You get a high-output turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque, paired with a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission and a helical limited-slip differential.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, driver monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and a rear seat reminder system.
• Infotainment: Every Civic Si has an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, text-messaging support, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, and HondaLink connected services.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA says it should return 31 mpg in combined driving, and the test route average was 29.5 mpg.

Which 2024 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2024 Honda Civic is offered in 1 trim level: Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

The Civic Si is the one to buy if you want the full enthusiast experience, because it combines the turbocharged engine, manual transmission, limited-slip differential, and upgraded chassis hardware into a single package. It also brings the best mix of performance and everyday usability, making it the clear choice for buyers who want the Civic’s sporty side without moving to a different model.

Honda Sensing is standard, but the expert evaluation says its lane-keeping and adaptive cruise behavior can be irritating, so that’s worth keeping in mind if you rely heavily on driver-assistance tech.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Honda Civic?

This is a moderate market, so you can buy selectively rather than rushing.

• Deal availability: 38.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,979 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,045, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $24,831 sits slightly below last year's $25,025.

That small decline suggests the Civic Si has held value fairly well rather than dropping sharply. For a future seller, that kind of stability is helpful because it points to a market that remains interested without requiring deep discounts.

The year-round price band is also fairly tight, which usually means buyers have a clear sense of what the car is worth. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintain the car well, you should be in a decent position when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic safe?

The 2024 Honda Civic earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, though it gets a four-star rating for front passenger protection in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, driver monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and a rear seat reminder system.

The caveat is that the expert evaluation found the driver-assistance system irritating in real-world use, especially the lane-keeping and adaptive cruise behavior. That means the hardware is comprehensive, but you should test the system yourself to see whether it suits your preferences.

Should I buy a 2024 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 Civic Si is unchanged since its 2022 redesign and keeps the enthusiast-focused manual-transmission formula intact.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $25,133, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $24,831 average.
• It adds a refreshed gas-only Civic lineup with LX and Sport trims, plus broader powertrain choices.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the proven Civic Si formula and a slightly lower average price. If you’re shopping mainly on value and want the strongest current-market balance, the 2024 is the better starting point; if you want the newer lineup structure and don’t mind paying more, the 2025 is worth a look.
