How much does the 2024 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 5,996 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Honda Civic earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the car’s new look, interior design, smooth manual shifting, and great gas mileage. The Civic Si also fits buyers who want a compact sedan that feels lively without giving up everyday usability, and it’s described as fun to drive and good value for money.

The main trade-offs are road and wind noise, plus an enthusiast-focused setup that prioritizes engagement over comfort. That makes it especially appealing if you want a rewarding daily driver rather than a quiet commuter.

Good and great deals account for 32.8% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable ownership experience, with praise centered on the car’s smooth manual shifting and strong day-to-day usability. The expert evaluation also describes the Civic Si as a proven formula that remains rewarding to drive, which supports the sense that it’s built around a well-sorted package.

Honda Service Pass adds complimentary scheduled maintenance for the first two years and 24,000 miles of ownership, which helps reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the bigger long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about whether the previous owner used the car hard enough to accelerate wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Honda Civic?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history carefully, because a clean listing percentage doesn’t replace a proper report. A pre-purchase inspection matters here, especially if you’re considering a car that may have been driven enthusiastically. Focus on brake condition, tire wear, and signs of hard use, since this model is tuned for engagement.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Civic Si stands apart with stealthy sport styling, red interior accents, metal pedal covers, and an aluminum shift knob, while the base setup is more understated.
• Powertrain: It uses a high-output turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission, front-wheel drive, and a helical limited-slip differential.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, driver monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and a rear seat reminder system.
• Infotainment: Every Civic Si has an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, text-messaging support, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, and HondaLink connected services.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA says it should get 31 mpg in combined driving, and testing returned 29.5 mpg.

Which 2024 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2024 Honda Civic is offered in 1 trim level: Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

The Civic Si is the clear choice if you want the most engaging version of this car, with the turbocharged engine, manual transmission, limited-slip differential, and upgraded chassis hardware all built in. It’s the best fit if you value driving enjoyment more than comfort-focused commuting, and it stands out as the enthusiast’s pick in the lineup.

Honda Sensing is standard, but the system’s behavior can be irritating, so you should be prepared for that if you rely heavily on driver-assistance tech.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Honda Civic?

This is a moderate market, so selective buyers should shop carefully and move quickly when they find a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,996 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,045, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $24,927 sits slightly below last year's $25,102.

That small decline suggests the market has stayed relatively stable rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that’s a good sign because it points to predictable demand and less risk of a sudden value drop.

The year’s pricing range also shows that well-priced examples can still move quickly if they’re clean and well maintained. If you keep mileage, condition, and service history in good shape, you should be in a decent position when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic safe?

The 2024 Honda Civic earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and it earns five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, except for a four-star rating for front passenger protection in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, driver monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and a rear seat reminder system.

The main caveat is that the driver-assistance tech can be irritating in real-world use, especially the lane-keeping and adaptive cruise functions. That means the safety hardware is comprehensive, but you should test how it behaves before you buy.

Should I buy a 2024 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 Civic Si is unchanged since its 2022 redesign, so you’re buying a proven formula with strong enthusiast appeal.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $25,180, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $24,927 average.
• It adds a refreshed lineup and broader powertrain choices.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2024 is the smarter buy because pricing is stable and inventory is healthy. If you’re willing to pay more for the newer model year’s updates, the 2025 is the better secondary path.
