Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year.

The 2024 Sierra 3500HD stands out as a heavy-duty truck that blends serious work capability with a more polished presentation than its earliest roots would suggest. It also adds a slight styling refresh, a more powerful turbodiesel, and a new Denali Ultimate trim, so you get a truck that can serve both demanding work needs and a more upscale daily-use role.

With 33.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful share of the market to shop from if you want value.

Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Sierra 3500HD is built around capability, with a wide range of cab, bed, and axle configurations that make it adaptable for buyers who need a true workhorse rather than a one-size-fits-all pickup. It also includes a long list of features that make it easier to live with and use for towing, which can reduce day-to-day friction if you plan to put serious miles on it.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the truck’s mission and more about whether a hard-working example has been maintained carefully enough to match its demanding use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report to confirm the truck’s background and look for signs of heavy towing or commercial use. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the suspension, brakes, tires, and towing equipment, since those areas can reveal how hard the truck has been worked. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or a top-trim truck with more expensive features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,347 listings available.

If you find a listing below $65,447, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $65,447 sits slightly below last year's $71,901.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who purchased when prices were higher. Strong condition and clean history should matter a lot when it comes time to resell, especially in a truck segment where buyers pay close attention to use and upkeep.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the better pick if you want the updated styling, stronger diesel output, and added tech while still shopping in a market with decent deal availability. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year may be worth considering, but the 2024 gives you a strong mix of capability, features, and current-market value.
