Is the 2024 Ford Expedition reliable?

The overview emphasizes a smooth ride, strong family usefulness, and a well-equipped cabin, all of which support confidence in day-to-day ownership. It also highlights practical features and modern tech that can make the vehicle feel easier to live with over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well enough to preserve that comfort-and-utility advantage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford Expedition?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks for signs of prior damage, wear, or deferred maintenance. Pay close attention to overall condition, especially on a large SUV where interior wear, ride quality, and equipment operation can vary a lot from one example to another. Because this model is built around comfort and family usefulness, make sure the cabin, seating, and technology all work the way you expect.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford Expedition?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare options and enough deal activity to reward patience.

• Deal availability: 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,857 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.16% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $45,233, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford Expedition's resale value?

The current average of $45,233 sits slightly below last year's $53,315.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value will depend heavily on how well your specific vehicle holds up against similar listings. Strong condition, clean history, and desirable equipment should matter more when the market is already softer.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford Expedition or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $61,490, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $45,233 average.
• It adds a Tremor trim for more off-road capability.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the stronger starting point because pricing has softened and inventory is healthy. If you want the newest version and are willing to pay more, the 2025 makes sense for buyers who want the added off-road-focused trim and a more modern cabin feel.
