The Durango is a long-running three-row SUV from Dodge. It offers a wide range of powertrain options, from a mild V6 to a rowdy supercharged V8, and its interior offers comfortable seating for the whole family plus all their gear. ## What’s New for the 2024 Dodge Durango After reviving the Durango Hellcat in 2023, Dodge went easy on changes for 2024, limiting it to things like making the Tow N Go Package available on both the Citadel trim and the Durango R/T. The SUV rolls in with up to 710 horsepower, and brings a load of great features. That said, it’s still outperformed by most rivals on tech and comfort features. ## Design The Durango isn’t subtle. Dodge has given it a beefy exterior appearance, even in milder forms that come with a V6 engine. It has an aggressive grille and mean-looking front fascia, but the rest of its exterior is smooth and unbothered by massive graphics – that is, unless the owner has opted for the available stripe appearance kit. ## Powertrain The Durango is available with four powertrain choices, including three V8 options. The base 3.6-liter V6 makes 293 or 295 horsepower, depending on the configuration. Stepping up to the 5.7-liter V8 brings 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. The 6.4-liter (392 cubic inch) V8 makes 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. At the top end of the engine line is the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that makes 710 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque. ## Interior Depending on the configuration, the Durango seats six or seven across three rows. Cloth upholstery comes standard, but higher trims add a variety of leather options, including Nappa leather, and unique color choices. Heated front seats come standard, and can be upgraded to ventilated seats with options packages. Second-row heated seats are also available. Dodge equips LED interior lighting and a power-adjustable driver’s seat comes standard. Three 12-volt power outlets come standard, and buyers can upgrade to have outlets located throughout the cabin. ## Technology An 8.4-inch touchscreen comes standard, running Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. IT also offers SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth, and multiple USB ports. Top trims get a 10.1-inch touchscreen with a customizable homescreen and voice commands. It also brings HD radio, navigation, over-the-air updates, and several SiriusXM-related features for traffic and navigation. The smaller unit runs Unconnect 4C, while the larger unit runs Uconnect 5. Both are among the easiest to use and least distracting interfaces on the market, and they bring a great set of standard features. ## Safety Dodge includes a surprising number of advanced safety features with the new Durango, including newly standard blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, as well as hill-start assist, a backup camera, automatic emergency braking, and keyless entry with push-button start. The new Durango hasn’t been crash-tested yet, but its predecessor earned mixed results in testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The IIHS updated its testing regimen for 2023, and none of the recent Durango models have been subjected to the new side-impact force tests as of this writing. ## Pricing Dodge hasn’t announced 2024 pricing yet, but with few changes in tow, we expect it to be close to the pricing seen in 2023. The MSRP will likely start at around $41,000 and climb to around $105,000 for the top Hellcat Premium model.
