Is the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It stands out as the last year of the third-generation model, and it benefits from updates that made it more modern and easier to live with. You also get a roomy interior, a practical compact-SUV layout, and added standard safety equipment for 2024. For shoppers who want everyday usability with a broad feature set, it fits that brief well. Is the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2024 Equinox is described as a practical, easy-to-live-with compact SUV, and its added standard safety equipment helps strengthen its appeal for daily use. Its smaller, lighter design also supports the kind of straightforward ownership experience many used buyers want. For long-term ownership, your biggest risk is buying a poorly maintained example, so condition and service history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Equinox?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully and confirm the vehicle has a clean background before you move forward. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can evaluate wear items, maintenance quality, and any signs of past damage. Focus especially on overall condition, because a used compact SUV can look appealing on paper while still hiding neglect.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,733 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.96% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,281, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $22,393 sits slightly below last year's $23,561.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, buying well matters because your eventual return will depend heavily on how much room you leave between purchase price and market value. A clean history and strong condition should help you preserve more value when it is time to move on.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $20,809, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $22,393 average.
• It offers strong value with easy-to-live-with practicality.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $25,830, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $22,393 average.
• It brings a fresher redesign with more standard tech and safety features.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2024 if you want the best balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the smarter value play; if you want the newest redesign and are willing to pay more, the 2025 is the upgrade path.
