Used 2024 BMW X2 for Sale nearPhiladelphia, PA

Is the 2024 BMW X2 a good car?

The 2024 BMW X2 earns a 7.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

Based on the BMW X1, the redesigned X2 gives you a coupe-like shape and a sportier appearance while still offering about the same passenger room and cargo space, so you get a distinctive premium small SUV without giving up much practicality. It also brings standard all-wheel drive, strong technology, and good safety ratings, which support its appeal if you want a compact luxury crossover with a more expressive design.

The trade-offs are clear: the styling may be polarizing, the controls can be confusing, and the xDrive28i is described as lacking the dynamism you might expect from a BMW. Cargo space is also limited enough to matter if utility is a top priority.

With 41.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you a decent amount of value-oriented inventory to consider.

Is the 2024 BMW X2 reliable?

The 2024 BMW X2 is presented as a premium compact SUV with standard all-wheel drive, a strong equipment story, and a three-year or 36,000-mile complimentary scheduled maintenance program through BMW Ultimate Care. Its performance setup includes a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, standard xDrive all-wheel drive, and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The expert evaluation also notes that the X2 can feel relatively quiet on the highway and generally capable in everyday driving, while the xDrive28i’s powertrain is described as lacking oomph and the transmission can seem unrefined at times, especially on a chilly start. That means your long-term ownership risk is less about basic equipment and more about whether you’ll be satisfied with the driving character and refinement over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW X2?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully, confirm the condition of the wheels, tires, and brakes, and pay close attention to how the cabin controls operate in real use. Because the X2’s design and interface can be polarizing, a thorough test drive matters as much as the paperwork.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The xDrive28i is the more accessible version, while the M35i adds the more powerful setup and M Sport treatment. The base xDrive28i can feel less engaging than you may expect, so the M35i is the better fit if you care most about driving enjoyment.
• Powertrain: Both versions use a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with standard xDrive all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The xDrive28i makes 241 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, while the M35i makes 312 horsepower with the same torque output at higher revs.
• Safety package: Active Driving Assistant is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, intersection assist for left turns, active blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, semi-autonomous parking assist, and a semi-autonomous backup assist system. Driving Assistance Plus adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep, and lane-centering assist, while Driving Assistance Professional adds active lane-keep assist with collision avoidance, evasive steering assist, lane-change assist, emergency stop assist, and Traffic Jam Assistant.
• Infotainment: The X2 uses a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.7-inch touchscreen running BMW Operating System 9. Standard equipment includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cloud-based navigation, connected services, and a conversational Intelligent Personal Assistant. Available upgrades add Live Cockpit Professional, video augmented reality navigation, and a head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: On an evaluation loop, the xDrive28i M Sport averaged 25.3 mpg, and the official EPA estimate is 28 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2024 BMW X2 trim should I buy?

The 2024 BMW X2 is offered in 2 trim levels: xDrive28i and M35i.

Here's the short version:

• xDrive28i: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core X2 experience with standard all-wheel drive, strong tech, and the same basic coupe-like packaging as the pricier version. It makes sense if you want the X2’s style and equipment without stretching to the performance model, but it is also the trim the experts found less satisfying to drive.
• M35i: This is the better choice if you want the X2 to feel more like a BMW should. It brings the more powerful engine and standard M Sport treatment, making it the clear pick for buyers who care most about driving fun and want the strongest version of the X2.

The standard safety package is Active Driving Assistant, while Driving Assistance Plus and Driving Assistance Professional are available upgrades.

Is the 2024 BMW X2 safe?

The 2024 BMW X2 earns a Top Safety Pick award from the IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Active Driving Assistant is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, intersection assist for left turns, active blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, semi-autonomous parking assist, and a semi-autonomous backup assist system. Driving Assistance Plus adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep, and lane-centering assist, while Driving Assistance Professional adds active lane-keep assist with collision avoidance, evasive steering assist, lane-change assist, emergency stop assist, and Traffic Jam Assistant with hands-free driving on selected limited-access highways under 40 mph.

One caveat is that the lane-assist system struggled in a merging situation on a curved freeway entrance ramp, and the driver aids can be frustrating when traffic cuts into the gap ahead.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW X2 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 41.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• The redesigned X2 stands out as BMW’s most affordable Sports Activity Coupe, with a coupe-like shape, about the same passenger room and cargo space as the X1, and strong technology and safety ratings.

The bottom line: If you want the newest X2 design, strong safety, and a premium-feeling compact SUV with distinctive styling, the 2024 is the right target. If you’re more price-sensitive, you should focus on the best-value listing rather than chasing the newest example, since the xDrive28i’s driving character is less compelling than the M35i’s.
