Why it stands out
The 2024 Audi A5 sits in the second generation of Audi’s stylish coupe family, and by this point it had evolved into a more practical and better-equipped luxury car than the original. Audi completely redesigned the A5 for the 2018 model year, adding the five-door Sportback alongside the coupe and convertible body styles. That broader lineup is one of the A5’s biggest distinctions, giving shoppers a choice of sleek design with varying levels of everyday usefulness. The Sportback’s sloping roofline opens to a generous cargo area, while the coupe remains the least practical of the group and the convertible gives up some trunk space to its folding soft top.
For 2024, the A5 gained extra standard driver-assistance technology, including adaptive cruise control and a lane-assist function. It also retained the second-generation A5’s standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with the 7-inch infotainment display in Premium and Premium Plus models and the 8.3-inch unit in the Prestige. The 2024 model year also continued with the turbocharged four-cylinder powertrain that Audi reworked for 2021, which added a mild hybrid system and brought output to 261 horsepower. Buyers who wanted more power could still look to the S5, which used a turbocharged V6 with 354 horsepower.
That mix of style, technology, and usable space is what makes the 2024 Audi A5 appealing. It offers a premium interior, all-wheel drive, and a polished driving experience, while the Sportback body style gives it more versatility than many luxury coupes. The tradeoff is that the A5 is not especially practical in coupe form, and its performance is more competent than thrilling. Still, for shoppers who want a refined luxury car with a distinctive shape and a strong feature set, the 2024 A5 remains an attractive choice.

Is the 2024 Audi A5 a good car?
Yes — the 2024 Audi A5 earns a 5/5 user rating, and that lines up with its role as a stylish luxury car that blends a premium feel with a practical body style. The overview points to a strong mix of standard equipment, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus extra standard driver-assistance technology for 2024 such as adaptive cruise control and lane assist. It also offers a comfortable, well-equipped cabin and the added usefulness of the Sportback body style, which makes it more versatile than a traditional coupe.
The tradeoffs are clear: it is not the most powerful or most spacious option in its segment, and the coupe’s back seat is cramped. Even so, if you want a refined luxury car with useful tech and everyday practicality, it fits that brief well. 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a workable shopping market.
Is the 2024 Audi A5 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The overview also supports a confidence-inspiring ownership picture: the A5 combines a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a mild hybrid system, sends power through Audi’s rear-biased quattro all-wheel-drive setup, and emphasizes a polished, secure driving feel. That combination suggests a car built to deliver consistent everyday use rather than high-strung performance.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright complexity than about making sure the car has been maintained properly and still feels tight, quiet, and well sorted.
What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Audi A5?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with incomplete service records. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the car still feels as refined and composed as the overview suggests, since that polished character is a big part of the A5’s appeal.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Audi A5?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.
- Deal availability: 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,036 listings available.
- Clean inventory: 96.6% of listings are accident-free.
Should I buy a 2024 Audi A5 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: The 2024 Audi A5 is the better pick if you want the most current version of this generation’s comfort, tech, and standard driver-assistance upgrades. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2024 gives you a strong balance of style, practicality, and market availability.
How does the 2024 Audi A5 compare to the 2024 BMW 4 Series?
