Used 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan for Sale near Georgia

How much does the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan cost?

Prices have softened 7.61% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,300 listings available, which suggests you should have a solid range of choices.

Is the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

It fits well if you want a compact crossover that feels larger inside than many rivals, offers a third-row seat, and brings a more upscale appearance than many competitors. The trade-offs are fairly pedestrian performance and unintuitive technology, so you may feel those compromises if you prioritize quick acceleration or simple controls.

38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Tiguan’s appeal for ownership comes from its roomy cabin, solid construction, and practical utility, along with a refined feel that helps it stand out in the compact crossover class. Its standard maintenance coverage also helps reduce early ownership costs.

Volkswagen includes two years of scheduled maintenance, three years or 36,000 miles of roadside assistance, and a four-year/50,000-mile warranty. The vehicle’s dependable day-to-day appeal is helped by its strong safety equipment and composed road manners.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its frustrating controls and modest powertrain may become more annoying over time than they seem on a short test drive.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example. Focus on cabin condition, control usability, and whether the tech and driver-assistance features work as expected on the specific trim you’re shopping.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S, SE, SE R-Line Black, and SEL R-Line each bring a different look and equipment mix, and the base trim has fewer choices for wheels and appearance combinations.
• Powertrain: Every Tiguan uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic; front-wheel drive is standard and 4Motion all-wheel drive is available.
• Safety package: Front Assist and Side Assist are standard, and IQ.Drive adds adaptive cruise control, active blind-spot monitoring, Lane Assist, Travel Assist, and Emergency Assist; it is optional on base models and standard on other models.
• Infotainment: The base S trim uses a 6.5-inch touchscreen, while other trims get an 8-inch screen; wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto appear on the top trim, along with wireless smartphone charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The SEL R-Line is rated at 24 mpg combined, and the test vehicle returned 22.6 mpg in mixed driving.

Which 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan trim should I buy?

The 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SE, SE R-Line Black, and SEL R-Line.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Tiguan’s space, safety, and style at the lowest starting price, but you’ll give up some of the richer features and visual polish found higher up.
• SE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more everyday convenience and a better overall balance of equipment without jumping all the way to the top-spec look.
• SE R-Line Black: Choose this if you want a sportier appearance and a more distinctive look without going straight to the most expensive version.
• SEL R-Line: This is the most upscale choice, with the strongest feature set, the larger digital display, standard AWD, and the most premium presentation.

IQ.Drive is optional on base models and standard on the other trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan?

This looks like a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,300 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.61% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,146, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan's resale value?

The current average of $22,146 sits slightly below last year's $23,971.

That softer pricing suggests the Tiguan has become more accessible for buyers, which can help keep demand steady in the near term. For a future seller, that means you may need to price competitively if you want to move the vehicle quickly.

Its strong utility, upscale feel, and broad appeal should help support interest from shoppers who want a roomy compact crossover. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan safe?

The 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS, though that rating does not apply for the 2023 calendar year.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

All Tiguans have standard Front Assist and Side Assist. Front Assist includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, while Side Assist adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Volkswagen also includes an Automatic Post Collision Braking System, and IQ.Drive adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, active blind-spot monitoring, Lane Assist, Travel Assist, and Emergency Assist.

One caveat is that NHTSA testing was incomplete at the time of the review, and NHTSA also noted that the driver’s door unlatched and opened during the side-impact test.

Should I buy a 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines roomy packaging, an upscale look, and strong safety tech.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $20,120, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $22,146 average.
• It offers a refined refresh with strong safety tech and broad everyday usefulness.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $24,367, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $22,146 average.
• It makes more desirable safety technology standard for the first time.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, safety, and overall appeal, the 2023 is the smart default. If your budget is tighter, the 2022 is the value play; if you want the newest standard safety content, the 2024 is worth the extra money.
