Used 2023 Toyota Sienna for Sale near Virginia

How much does the 2023 Toyota Sienna cost?

Prices have softened 2.28% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,710 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Toyota Sienna a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Toyota Sienna earns a 4.11/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its fuel efficiency, spaciousness, and comfort, and many highlight the hybrid setup as a major advantage for family use. The Sienna also stands out for standard advanced safety features, which reinforces its appeal as a practical minivan for everyday hauling.

The main trade-offs are its sluggish acceleration and irritating transmission, plus some mixed feedback around technology and engine noise under hard acceleration. In use, that means you’re getting a family-focused minivan that prioritizes efficiency and utility over driving excitement.

Good and great deals account for 35.3% of listings, which suggests you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Toyota Sienna reliable?

Owners rate it 4.11/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe the Sienna as efficient, comfortable, and dependable, with the hybrid setup helping it feel like a vehicle you can count on for family duty. The expert evaluation also notes that, outside of its dated interface and a few quirks, the technology is reliable.

Toyota’s cost-effectiveness commentary also points to meaningful fuel savings from the hybrid powertrain, which can help reduce ownership stress over time. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the vehicle’s age, mileage, and maintenance history have kept its hybrid and tech systems in good shape.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Toyota Sienna?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any listing you’re considering, even if it appears clean on paper. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the transmission behavior, hybrid operation, and the condition of the second-row seating and cabin electronics. Because this is a family hauler, pay close attention to wear in the seats, doors, and cargo area.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LE is the entry point, while the XLE is the value-focused step up because it adds standard LED fog lights, power-sliding doors, and a power liftgate. The XLE is the best-value trim if you want the most useful family features without moving too far up the price ladder. The XSE, Limited, 25th Anniversary Special Edition, and Platinum add more upscale or sporty equipment, with the Platinum emphasizing higher-end interior materials.
• Powertrain: Every 2023 Sienna uses a hybrid setup built around a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with two front-mounted electric motors, plus a third rear-mounted electric motor on AWD trims. The system makes 245 net system horsepower, and the efficiency focus is a major part of the Sienna’s appeal.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense-style coverage includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with steering assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. These standard features are a major strength, especially for family buyers.
• Infotainment: The Sienna uses a 9-inch touchscreen with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth, an optional navigation system, and seven USB ports. CarPlay and Android Auto require a wired connection, and the interface is older and can feel clunky.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA rates AWD models at 35 mpg city, 36 highway, and 35 combined, while FWD models return 36 mpg across the board.

Which 2023 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?

The 2023 Toyota Sienna is offered in 6 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, 25th Anniversary Special Edition, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the starting point if you want the lowest entry price, but it is the most basic way into the lineup.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim because it adds standard LED fog lights, power-sliding doors, and a power liftgate, which are especially useful for family duty.
• XSE: Choose this if you want a sportier look and feel, including the 20-inch wheels on FWD versions.
• 25th Anniversary Special Edition: This trim sits just below the Limited and gives you a commemorative step up in the lineup.
• Limited: This is the upscale middle-to-upper choice if you want more luxury without going all the way to the top trim.
• Platinum: Pick this if you want the most premium cabin experience, including the high-quality leather and wood-grain accents highlighted in testing.

Toyota’s standard safety equipment is a major selling point across the lineup, so even lower trims benefit from a strong safety foundation.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Toyota Sienna?

• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.28% compared with last year.

What is the 2023 Toyota Sienna's resale value?

The current average of $41,626 sits slightly below last year's $42,599.

That softer pricing trend can help you if you buy now, because you may be entering at a more favorable point than shoppers did a year ago. For a future seller, the current market suggests there is still demand, but pricing discipline matters if you want to protect your return.

The Sienna’s strong efficiency and family-friendly reputation should help it remain appealing to used buyers. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintenance records clean, you should be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.11/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Toyota Sienna safe?

The 2023 Toyota Sienna was awarded five-star ratings from NHTSA, and the mechanically identical 2022 Sienna received a Top Safety Pick+ designation from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Sienna comes standard with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with steering assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. That standard safety suite is a major advantage if you’re shopping for a family vehicle.

One caveat is that the 2023 model had not yet been rated by IIHS at the time of testing, even though the related 2022 version earned strong recognition. Still, the standard safety equipment and expert safety score make this a strong choice if safety is high on your list.

Should I buy a 2023 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.11/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It combines a standard hybrid powertrain with strong safety and family-friendly practicality.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $36,661, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $41,626 average.
• It keeps the standard hybrid setup and adds a more adventurous Woodland trim.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $44,345, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $41,626 average.
• It keeps the hybrid formula while leaning into comfort and modern family usefulness.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, efficiency, and safety, the 2023 is the smart default. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2022 is worth a look; if you want to spend more for a newer example, the 2024 is the next step up.
