Used 2023 Toyota Sienna for Sale nearDurham, NC

How much does the 2023 Toyota Sienna cost?

Prices have softened 3.49% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,846 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare before you buy.

Is the 2023 Toyota Sienna a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Toyota Sienna earns a 4.1/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its fuel efficiency, spaciousness, and comfort, and many highlight the hybrid setup for excellent gas mileage. The Sienna also stands out as a practical family hauler with strong cargo space and a roomy cabin.

The main trade-offs are its sluggish acceleration and an irritating transmission, and the second-row seats are not removable. For shoppers who want minivan utility and efficiency more than driving excitement, that balance makes sense.

Good and great deals account for 34.2% of listings, which suggests you can still find competitive pricing if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Toyota Sienna reliable?

Owners rate it 4.1/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, especially around the hybrid powertrain’s efficiency and the vehicle’s family-friendly comfort. The expert review also describes the Sienna’s technology as reliable, even if the interface itself feels dated.

Toyota’s hybrid setup is a strong long-term ownership advantage because it prioritizes efficiency and everyday usability. For used buyers, the main risk is less about outright reliability and more about whether the vehicle has been maintained well and driven in a way that avoids excessive wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Toyota Sienna?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can check for wear, signs of prior damage, and any issues that might not show up in photos. Focus especially on condition details that matter in a family vehicle, like seat wear, cabin cleanliness, and how well the tech and safety systems work.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, Platinum, and the 25th Anniversary Special Edition. The XLE stands out as the value-oriented choice because it adds standard LED fog lights, power-sliding doors, and a power liftgate, while the LE and XLE are the trims that can seat eight.
• Powertrain: Every model uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid with two front-mounted electric motors, plus a third rear-mounted electric motor on AWD trims. It makes 245 net system horsepower, and the review notes that acceleration is not especially strong for the Sienna’s size.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense-style driver assistance comes standard with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with steering assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: You get a 9-inch touchscreen, standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, an optional navigation system, and seven USB ports. The system uses a wired connection for CarPlay and Android Auto, and the interface feels dated.
• Fuel efficiency: The Sienna is rated at 35 mpg city, 36 highway, and 35 combined with AWD, while FWD versions return 36 mpg across the board.

Which 2023 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?

The 2023 Toyota Sienna is offered in 6 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, Platinum, and 25th Anniversary Special Edition.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Sienna without losing the hybrid efficiency or standard safety equipment.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds standard LED fog lights, power-sliding doors, and a power liftgate.
• XSE: Choose this if you want a sportier look and, on FWD versions, 20-inch wheels.
• Limited: This is the upscale comfort step if you want a more premium-feeling cabin and more equipment.
• 25th Anniversary Special Edition: This sits just below the Limited and is the special-edition choice if you want something a little more distinctive.
• Platinum: This is the top trim for shoppers who want the most upscale interior and the fullest feature set.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, which makes it easier to shop by comfort and convenience rather than by safety equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Toyota Sienna?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,846 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.49% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $40,492, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Toyota Sienna's resale value?

The current average of $40,492 sits slightly below last year's $41,956.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well the vehicle holds its condition. If you buy at a favorable price and keep mileage, maintenance, and cosmetic wear in check, you improve your odds of limiting depreciation pain later.

The Sienna’s strong owner satisfaction helps support demand in the used market. Buyers looking for a fuel-efficient, family-friendly minivan tend to keep this model on their shortlist, which can help resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Toyota Sienna safe?

The 2023 Toyota Sienna earns five-star ratings from NHTSA, and the mechanically identical 2022 Sienna received a Top Safety Pick+ designation from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota makes safety a major selling point here, and the Sienna comes standard with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with steering assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. That standard equipment is especially valuable in a family vehicle.

One caveat is that the 2023 model had not yet been rated by IIHS at the time of the review, even though the prior-year version earned strong recognition. Still, the standard safety suite is a major strength.

Should I buy a 2023 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.49% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.1/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 keeps the hybrid-only formula, strong efficiency, and standard safety focus.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $36,091, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $40,492 average.
• It adds a new Woodland trim for a more adventurous look.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $44,022, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $40,492 average.
• It keeps the hybrid formula while leaning into updated family-hauler practicality.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, efficiency, and family usefulness, the 2023 is the smart default. If your budget is tighter, the 2022 can save you money while keeping the same basic formula.
