Why it stands out
The 2023 Toyota Highlander excels as a well-rounded midsize SUV, boasting a blend of comfort, reliability, and practicality that appeals to families. Its spacious interior provides up to 84.3 cubic feet of cargo space, making it suitable for both everyday errands and longer trips. The introduction of the turbocharged engine enhances fuel efficiency without sacrificing power, a significant improvement over previous models that relied on a V6 engine. Furthermore, the Highlander maintains its reputation for safety, consistently earning high marks from reviewers for its strong build quality and standard safety features. Despite its strengths, it's worth noting that some drivers find the Highlander's driving dynamics somewhat uninspiring; however, the focus on a smooth ride and ample interior space remains a priority for many buyers.

New 4cyl. is peppy enough, just seems out of place in a vehicle this size. That plus the buzzing of something so small compared to the V6 leaves much to be desired. Handling is great. With the xse sport tuned suspension...it drives relatively good. Only upside of going for the premium audio is the 12.3 inch infotainment. The jbl premium sound doesnt do it for me. Shallow sound and lackluster bass. Build quality is what youd expect from Toyota, surprising actually...in a good way. Seats are comfortable for those lucky to be in the 2 front rows. The third should be reserved for small children or average sized adults in a pinch. Cargo space is a bit small but its what to expect in this segment. The third row means some compromise in that dept. Overall, I love my new Highlander. Its definitely not without flaws but they are easy to look past.
