Why it stands out
The 2023 Toyota Highlander Hybrid is a midsize SUV that effectively combines fuel efficiency with family-friendly features. Its hybrid system features a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine paired with electric motors, producing 243 combined horsepower. This setup is particularly designed to excel in urban environments, providing a quiet and smooth ride—ideal for daily commutes. The Highlander Hybrid's cabin focuses on passenger comfort, offering features like three-zone climate control and available heated seating. Additionally, the vehicle is well-equipped with safety technology, including Toyota's Safety Sense 2.5+, which incorporates a suite of innovative driving assistance features.
However, it does face some limitations, particularly regarding performance, especially in high-speed situations where the acceleration feels underwhelming. The interior materials have also received criticism for feeling less premium than expected. Despite these drawbacks, its strengths, especially in safety and efficiency, make it appealing for those seeking a reliable family SUV.

I purchased the Limited trim on this 2023 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. It has everything except the 360 camera view. I love this car it is perfect for long trips, rides smooth and is quiet on the highways. Taking off from a start the engine is a little loud, but settles down at cruising speeds. Great warranty and will last about 250,000 miles. I won’t need to buy another car for the next 15 or so years. When I do need to buy another car it will be a Toyota Highlander Hybrid
