CarGurus Analysis: 2023 Porsche Panamera
overall

Summary
With 327 currently listed for sale and an average price of $84,084.00, 33.0% of 2023 Porsche Panameras for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2023 Porsche Panamera 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 6.67 / 10.
90.2% of 2023 Panamera models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2023 Porsche Panamera stands out because it brings Porsche’s sports-car character into a four-door grand tourer format. It blends styling cues from the 911 Carrera with the more practical, passenger-friendly shape of a sportback or sports wagon, giving it a look and layout that are both distinctive and useful. The lineup is also broad, with three body styles and multiple drivetrains, so buyers can tailor the car to their priorities.
On the road, the Panamera’s appeal is rooted in its driving character and everyday comfort. It is described as fun to drive and comfortable, while also offering plenty of cargo space. For 2023, the only change is that adaptive cruise control is standard instead of optional, which adds convenience to an already well-rounded package.
There are still a few drawbacks to keep in mind. The brake pedal feel on winding roads is a noted weakness, the Bose audio system is unimpressive, and the car’s performance value for the money is not especially strong. Even so, the 2023 Porsche Panamera remains distinctive for buyers who want a luxury performance car that can deliver both style and practicality.

Fully loaded with the platinum trim. Very nicely built wait as expected. The hybrid system is very cool and it can actually go about 30 miles on battery alone.

Reviewed a 2023 Porsche Panamera on Nov 3, 2023
Six months into 23 Panamera 4 as daily driver. Base car with surround view and 14 way seats. Could not be happier with build quality and handling. Despite girth and weight it keeps up with the best through twisting country roads with changes in elevation. High speed runs quiet and very comfortable. Precise steering, good road feel and flat coil spring suspension on Sport mode. Despite not having rear wheel steering, I manage easy three point turns and tight parking better that in my last car, a 2018 BMW M2. Although not a screamer in acceleration, the base engine is more than adequate for real-world driving. Porsche info. sys. interface is quirky and getting string into memory and to hold, is a pain. Even Porsche guru had problem. Porsche.com is a black hole in trying to sort thins out. The car itself is a great big, old school sports sedan. Stay away from all the options, unless you have deep pockets. They do not, for the most part, add to the diving pleasure. They do, however, satisfy the hedonist (and Porsches bottom line).

It brings Porsche’s sports-car character into a four-door grand tourer format, and the design blends 911-inspired styling with a more practical, passenger-friendly shape. That makes it a strong fit if you want a luxury performance car that still works as an everyday road-trip machine.
The trade-offs are clear: the brake pedal feel on winding roads is a weakness, the Bose audio system is unimpressive, and the performance value for the money is not especially strong.
The model’s 28.7% good-or-great deal share suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2023 Porsche Panamera reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Panamera’s appeal is built around strong engineering, comfort, and everyday usability, and the expert evaluation describes it as a well-rounded luxury performance car with impressive technology and a practical sportback layout. Its powertrain is also described as a terrific example of a dual-clutch automatic, with decisive shift action and a composed driving character.
The cost-effectiveness assessment also notes that Porsche’s engineering and quality are excellent, even if the price is hard to justify against some rivals.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that high-end performance hardware and luxury features can be expensive to live with if you need repairs or maintenance.
What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Porsche Panamera?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a higher-mileage example or one with expensive options. Focus on brake feel, infotainment operation, and the condition of the interior and exterior trim, since those are the kinds of details that can separate a great used example from an average one.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The standard Panamera, the extended-wheelbase Panamera Executive, and the Panamera Sport Turismo each bring different body styles and personalities. The Platinum Edition adds exclusive detailing, unique 21-inch wheels, a sport exhaust system, and a Premium Package with heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, four-zone climate control, Bose audio, adaptive LED headlights, and blind-spot monitoring.
- Powertrain: The base setup uses a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 with 325 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available.
- Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, and parking sensors. An available Assistance Package adds a head-up display, surround-view camera, and Porsche InnoDrive with Traffic Jam Assist.
- Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch center touchscreen with Porsche Communication Management, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L, Connect Plus services, a Wi-Fi hotspot, vehicle tracking, and a wireless smartphone charger.
- Fuel efficiency: The base V6 is rated at 20 mpg in combined driving.
Which 2023 Porsche Panamera trim should I buy?
The 2023 Porsche Panamera is offered in 3 trim levels: Panamera, Panamera Executive, and Panamera Sport Turismo.
Here's the short version:
- Panamera: This is the trim to start with if you want the core Panamera experience in the standard body style. It gives you the Porsche driving character, the twin-turbo V6, and the broad tech and safety content that make the car feel modern and usable. It’s the best-value choice if you want the Panamera’s identity without paying for extra body-style complexity.
- Panamera Executive: Choose this if rear-seat space and a more stretched-out layout matter more to you. The extended-wheelbase format is the main reason to step up here, so it suits you best if you plan to spend more time carrying passengers than chasing the sharpest value.
- Panamera Sport Turismo: Pick this if you want the wagon-style body and the added practicality that comes with it. It’s the most cargo-friendly direction in the lineup and makes the most sense if you want the Panamera’s performance with extra utility.
Adaptive cruise control is standard across the 2023 lineup, which is a useful safety-package note to keep in mind.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Porsche Panamera?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.
- Deal availability: 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 317 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.14% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 91.2% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $84,042.99, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2023 Porsche Panamera's resale value?
The current average of $84,086 sits slightly below last year's $90,552.
That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more selectively now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car is equipped.
Because the Panamera is a premium performance model, well-kept examples with desirable features should continue to draw interest. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2023 Porsche Panamera safe?
It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.
Porsche equips the Panamera Platinum Edition with adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, and parking sensors. An available Assistance Package adds a head-up display, surround-view camera, and Porsche InnoDrive with Traffic Jam Assist.
Adaptive cruise control is now standard for 2023, which is a meaningful improvement for everyday driving. The lane-departure warning system can struggle to tell pavement seams from lane markings, and the lane-keeping assist can intervene abruptly when it decides you’re not paying close enough attention.
Should I buy a 2023 Porsche Panamera or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2023 if:
- 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.14% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- This year’s key update is that adaptive cruise control is standard instead of optional.
The bottom line: If you want the Panamera with a useful standard safety upgrade and a softer market than last year, the 2023 is the smart target. If you’re mainly chasing the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2023 gives you a strong mix of value, equipment, and buyer demand.
