It stands out as a full-size body-on-frame SUV with serious off-road hardware, full-time four-wheel drive, a locking center differential, Crawl Control, Multi-Terrain Select, hill-descent control, and a Multi-Terrain Monitor. Is the 2023 Lexus LX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Lexus LX is described as a rugged, well-equipped SUV with a reputation for strong resale value, and its off-road-focused hardware suggests it is built for demanding use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the vehicle has been maintained carefully, since a premium SUV with this much capability can be costly if neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Lexus LX?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report to confirm the listing’s background and verify that the clean record matches the paperwork. Prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the SUV has seen off-road use or heavy towing. Focus on overall condition, including the cabin, electronics, tires, and underbody wear, since those areas can reveal how the vehicle was actually used.

If you find a listing below $84,262, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Lexus LX's resale value?

The current average of $84,335 sits slightly below last year's $90,834.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more favorably now but may also mean a future seller has less pricing power than a year ago. Even so, the LX’s premium positioning and strong demand for well-kept examples can help support value if you maintain it carefully and keep mileage, condition, and history in good shape. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Lexus LX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• It brings a long-overdue redesign with a new platform and updated technology.

The bottom line:
The 2023 is the better pick if you want a well-equipped, highly rated LX with a softer used-market price and decent deal availability. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2022 can be worth a look because its redesign brought major updates and may offer a lower entry point depending on the listing.
