Is the 2023 Lexus ES a good car?

Is the 2023 Lexus ES reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Lexus ES is described as a comfort-first luxury sedan with a quiet cabin, refined road manners, and a strong emphasis on everyday usability. It also comes with a broad set of standard safety features, which supports its appeal for buyers who want a low-stress ownership experience. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about excitement and more about making sure the car has been maintained well and hasn’t picked up hidden wear from prior use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Lexus ES?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still review the history report carefully and confirm there are no accident, title, or odometer issues before you commit. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin, electronics, tires, brakes, and suspension so you can judge whether the car still feels as refined as it should. Focus on overall condition, because a luxury sedan like this is best when the interior, controls, and ride quality all remain in excellent shape.

The current average of $38,751 sits slightly above last year's $38,046.

That price movement suggests the market has held up reasonably well for this model year, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. A stable-to-rising average price can help support future resale value, especially when demand remains steady and shoppers continue to see the ES as a comfort-first luxury sedan. The combination of strong pricing and broad appeal can make it easier to attract buyers when you decide to move on.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Lexus ES or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 42.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.85% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $34,915, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $38,751 average.
• It offers a calm, easygoing luxury experience with a quieter, more traditional appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of inventory, condition, and owner satisfaction, the 2023 is the better primary pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the smarter secondary path and still delivers the ES formula of comfort and refinement.
