Used 2023 Kia Soul for Sale near Texas

How much does the 2023 Kia Soul cost?

Prices have softened 4.46% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,954 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Kia Soul a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Kia Soul earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its spacious interior, enjoyable ride, and strong value, and they also point to its safety features and driving comfort as strengths. On the downside, the base model leaves out some desirable equipment, and the boxy styling will not suit every buyer.

That mix fits you well if you want a practical small car with a distinctive personality and everyday usability. With 34.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Kia Soul reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for the Soul’s value and comfort over time. The expert review also describes the Soul as a well-rounded small car that remains worth considering, and Kia’s warranty coverage adds another layer of confidence for long-term ownership.

For used buyers, the main risk is less about the model’s basic appeal and more about finding one that has been maintained properly and equipped the way you want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Soul?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can check for wear, missing equipment, and any signs that the car has been used harder than expected. Focus especially on trim content, because the base model leaves out some features that higher trims add.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX starts with an 8-inch touchscreen, while higher trims get a 10.25-inch screen with navigation, wireless phone charging, and additional USB ports. The base trim also misses some convenience and driver-assist equipment that appears higher in the lineup.
• Powertrain: You get a single 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 147 horsepower, a CVT, and front-wheel drive. The setup is tuned more for easy everyday driving than quick acceleration.
• Safety package: Forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and a driver attention monitor are standard. The Soul S adds lane change assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and automatic high beams.
• Infotainment: The base model has an 8-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims move to a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation, while Bluetooth and voice recognition are also part of the setup on higher trims.
• Fuel efficiency: Most models are rated at 28 mpg city and 33 mpg highway, while the EX is rated at 29 mpg city and 35 mpg highway.

Which 2023 Kia Soul trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Soul is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, S, EX, and GT-Line.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Soul’s core personality at the lowest price. It makes sense if you want the distinctive styling and practical packaging without paying for extras, but you should be aware that some desirable convenience and safety features are reserved for higher trims.
• S: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds meaningful safety equipment, including blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane change assist, and automatic high beams. If you want the strongest balance of price and equipment, this is the trim to focus on.
• EX: This trim is the better pick if you want more comfort and tech, including the larger touchscreen, navigation, wireless charging, and additional USB ports. It also gets the slightly better fuel-economy rating.
• GT-Line: This is the most style-forward version, with sportier visual touches and available equipment that adds more convenience and audio upgrades. It suits you best if you want the Soul’s most distinctive presentation and are willing to pay more for it.

The safety package is not fully standard across the lineup, so if advanced driver-assist features matter to you, make sure the trim you choose includes the equipment you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Soul?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,954 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.46% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,722, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Soul's resale value?

The current average of $16,933 sits slightly below last year's $17,724.

That softer pricing suggests the Soul is currently in a buyer-friendly phase, which can work against a future seller if you buy at the wrong point in the cycle. If you purchase near the low end of the range, you give yourself a better chance of limiting depreciation exposure later. The Soul’s broad appeal, practical packaging, and strong value reputation should still help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Soul safe?

The 2023 Kia Soul earns top “Good” ratings in all IIHS crash-test categories, but a lower “Acceptable” rating for child-seat anchor ease of use. It earns a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in side-impact protection.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia made forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and a driver attention monitor standard for 2023. Moving up to the Soul S adds lane change assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and automatic high beams. The GT-Line Technology Package adds junction-turning forward collision warning, navigation-based adaptive cruise control, and Highway Drive Assist with automated lane centering.

The main caveat is that some of the more advanced driver-assistance features still require a higher trim or option package, so you should check equipment carefully if safety tech is a priority.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Soul or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 model adds more standard driver-assist features and a revised trim lineup, while dropping the X-Line and Turbo variants.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the Soul’s current formula, the 2023 model is the right place to start. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby older year may offer a lower entry price, but you should weigh that against the 2023’s updated equipment and stronger standard safety content.
