Used 2023 Kia Niro for Sale near Ohio

How much does the 2023 Kia Niro cost?

Prices have softened 1.69% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 412 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2023 Kia Niro a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Kia Niro earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, safety, and fuel economy, and they also call out its spacious interior and smooth drive. The expert review reinforces that efficiency-first appeal, while the overview frames it as a practical small crossover with multiple powertrain options and standard advanced safety features. The main trade-offs are the lack of all-wheel drive and the irritating transmission, so it fits you best if you value economy and everyday usability more than driving polish. With 30.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Kia Niro reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary describes the Niro as reliable and feature-packed, and it also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers. The expert review adds that the hybrid can settle into a comfortable and pleasant rhythm once it adapts to your driving style, which supports the case for everyday dependability. Kia also notes standard advanced safety equipment across the lineup, which can help reduce ownership stress. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about living with the transmission quirks and making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Niro?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any listing you like, because accident-free status is a useful starting point but not a substitute for documentation. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the transmission behavior, cabin electronics, and overall condition, especially if you plan to keep the car for the long haul. It also makes sense to compare trim equipment carefully so you know whether the features you want are standard or tied to a higher trim.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX uses the 8-inch infotainment screen, while EX and SX move to the 10.25-inch system with navigation, a premium sound system, and satellite radio. The base trim also misses the heated front seats, rear air vents, wireless charging, mood lighting, and Smart Key with push-button start that come on EX and above.
• Powertrain: The hybrid setup pairs a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine with a 32kW electric motor for 139 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque, and it uses a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. It is front-wheel drive only, and the review notes that the hybrid can feel heavy and not especially quick.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes blind-spot monitoring with collision avoidance, forward collision avoidance with pedestrian detection and junction turning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, lane-following assist, driver attention warning with lead-vehicle departure alert, high beam assist, intelligent speed limit assist, a rear view camera with dynamic guidelines, and rear occupant alert. Smart cruise control with stop and go, highway driving assist, and parking distance warnings are available.
• Infotainment: The base LX gets an 8-inch touchscreen, while other trims get a 10.25-inch display with navigation, premium audio, and satellite radio. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are limited to the 8-inch system, so moving up a trim means giving up wireless smartphone connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid is rated at 53 mpg combined, with 53 mpg city and 54 mpg highway on non-Touring trims. Touring models are rated at 53 mpg city, 43 mpg highway, and 49 mpg combined.

Which 2023 Kia Niro trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Niro is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, EX, SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the Niro’s core efficiency and standard safety tech at the lowest entry point. You get the 8-inch touchscreen and the same hybrid fundamentals, but you give up the larger display and several comfort upgrades found higher up.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the 10.25-inch infotainment system, navigation, premium audio, satellite radio, heated front seats, rear air vents, wireless charging, mood lighting, and Smart Key with push-button start. It also unlocks Kia Connect, which adds remote vehicle access and a shareable Digital Key.
• SX: Choose this if you want the most comfort-focused version, since it adds ventilated front seats, memory seats, a heated steering wheel, and an external subwoofer. It makes the Niro feel more upscale, but the EX is the smarter buy if you want the strongest mix of features and value.

Safety equipment is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim to get the core driver-assistance suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Niro?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 412 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.69% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,742, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Niro's resale value?

The current average of $22,127 sits slightly below last year's $22,507.

That softer pricing suggests the Niro is still accessible on the used market, which can help you buy in at a reasonable level today. For a future seller, the current trend implies that resale value may stay competitive if the model continues to attract efficiency-minded shoppers. Its strong fuel economy and standard safety equipment should help support demand, especially among buyers who prioritize low running costs over performance. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Niro safe?

The 2023 Kia Niro earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Safety is a major strength here because Kia makes advanced driver assistance standard across the lineup. That includes blind-spot monitoring with collision avoidance, forward collision avoidance with pedestrian detection and junction turning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, lane-following assist, driver attention warning with lead-vehicle departure alert, high beam assist, and intelligent speed limit assist. A rear view camera with dynamic guidelines and rear occupant alert are also standard, while smart cruise control with stop and go, highway driving assist, and parking distance warnings are available. The main caveat is that official crash-test results for this model year are not yet available.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Niro or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 model stands out for its all-new redesign, best-in-class fuel economy, and standard advanced safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the Niro with strong efficiency and a modernized cabin, the 2023 is the one to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but you should expect to give up some of the redesign’s appeal and current-market momentum.
