How much does the 2023 Jeep Wrangler cost?

Prices have softened 6.61% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 7,484 listings available, which gives you a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Jeep Wrangler earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise its off-road capability and fun driving experience, and the feedback also points to a vehicle that feels distinctive and purpose-built. The main trade-offs are high-speed handling concerns and pricing concerns, along with some disappointment about missing comfort features like seat warmers.

That lines up with the Wrangler’s use case: it is aimed at you if off-road ability and character matter more than everyday polish. With 33.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle people tend to enjoy over time, especially for its off-road capability and fun driving experience. The summary also suggests you can count on it as a dependable choice if your priorities are adventure and character rather than luxury.

The expert notes reinforce that long-term appeal by emphasizing the Wrangler’s durable, purpose-built hardware and its ability to handle demanding terrain. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is that the same rugged formula can come with compromises in comfort and day-to-day livability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Wrangler?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any Wrangler you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on off-road wear, steering feel, brake condition, and signs of hard use. Pay close attention to how complete the equipment is, since some trims leave out features you may expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Wrangler’s rugged design includes removable doors, a fold-down windshield, wide fenders, and multiple top options, but some popular trims do not get locking differentials or aggressive tires.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a 285-horsepower V6, a 270-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder, a 3.0-liter diesel, a 6.4-liter V8, or a plug-in hybrid setup with two electric motors and a 17.3 kWh battery pack.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment is limited to a rearview camera, electronic roll mitigation, and stability control. Blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are standard only on the top 392 model, and lane-keeping assist is not offered.
• Infotainment: A 7-inch touchscreen is standard, with an 8.4-inch screen on the tester. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and over-the-air updates apply only to the Uconnect system.
• Fuel efficiency: Expect anywhere from 19 mpg combined to 23 mpg combined, with the diesel returning 25 mpg combined and the plug-in hybrid reaching 49 mpge combined.

Which 2023 Jeep Wrangler trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler is offered in 1 trim level: Rubicon 392.

Here's the short version:

The Rubicon 392 is the standout if you want the most extreme Wrangler experience, with the strongest performance focus and the most aggressive hardware described in the data. It is the right fit if you care most about off-road capability and don’t mind the compromises that come with the highest-output setup.

The safety package note is important here: advanced driver-assistance features are not standard across the lineup, and several are reserved for the top 392 model.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Wrangler?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 7,484 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.61% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $34,413, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $34,712 sits slightly below last year's $37,170.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices continue to ease. If you buy at the right number and keep the vehicle in good condition, you should be better positioned to limit depreciation pressure.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler safe?

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler earns Good and Marginal IIHS results, and it earns four-star ratings from NHTSA for frontal crash and three-star ratings for rollover.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Jeep’s standard safety equipment is limited to a rearview camera, electronic roll mitigation, and stability control. Blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are standard only on the top 392 model, while lane-keeping assist is not offered at all.

The mixed crash-test results are the main caution here, especially the Marginal ratings and the Poor headlight results on some trims. If safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to trim level and equipment.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It remains a purpose-built off-road SUV with solid axles, open-air versatility, and multiple powertrain choices.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $29,553, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $34,712 average.
• It emphasizes retro styling and open-air versatility.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $36,329, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $34,712 average.
• It adds a more modern feel with updated technology, safety, and refinement.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current pricing and strong owner satisfaction, the 2023 is the primary path to consider. If your budget is tighter, the 2022 is the more affordable alternative, while the 2024 makes sense if you want the newer refresh and are willing to pay more.
