How much does the 2023 Jeep Wrangler cost?

Prices have softened 6.86% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 7,432 listings available, which gives you a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Jeep Wrangler earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise its off-road capability and fun driving experience, and the review summary also points to the Wrangler’s strong adventure-focused character. You also see recurring enthusiasm around its distinctive design and purpose-built feel, even if some shoppers mention pricing concerns and missing comfort features like seat warmers.

The trade-offs are clear: limited storage space and unimpressive on-road performance. That makes the Wrangler a better fit if you want a vehicle built around trail use and open-air versatility rather than everyday refinement.

With the Wrangler’s body-on-frame setup and off-road-first mission, it makes the most sense if you value capability and character over comfort. Good and great deals account for 38.5% of listings, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a vehicle that many drivers feel good about keeping, especially because of its off-road capability and fun-to-drive personality. It also suggests the Wrangler can be a dependable companion for buyers who want a vehicle with a clear purpose and strong enthusiast appeal.

The expert review reinforces that long-term ownership can work well if you buy the right configuration, since some trims are better equipped for the Wrangler’s mission than others. For used buyers, the main risk is ending up with a trim that lacks the hardware you expect for the kind of driving you plan to do.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Wrangler?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the vehicle has seen trail use. Focus on wear, modifications, and whether the equipment matches how you plan to use it.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Some popular trims do not get locking differentials or aggressive tires, so you should confirm the hardware before you buy.
• Powertrain: The Wrangler offers a V6, a turbocharged four-cylinder, a diesel, a V8, and a plug-in hybrid setup, so choose the one that best matches your driving and efficiency needs.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are standard only on the top 392 model; elsewhere, they are part of an option package.
• Infotainment: A 7-inch touchscreen is standard, while an 8.4-inch screen is available; Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and over-the-air updates apply only to the Uconnect system.
• Fuel efficiency: Expect anywhere from 19 mpg combined to 23 mpg combined, with the diesel returning 25 mpg combined and the plug-in hybrid reaching 49 mpge combined.

Which 2023 Jeep Wrangler trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, High Altitude, Willys Sport, Sahara.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, but it skips the more trail-ready hardware you may want if you plan to use the Wrangler for serious off-road driving.
• High Altitude: This trim leans more toward style and comfort, but it still misses some of the rugged equipment that makes the Wrangler shine off pavement.
• Willys Sport: This is the best-value choice if you want a more capable Wrangler without jumping to the pricier, more specialized trims.
• Sahara: This is the more upscale choice in the lineup, but you should still check whether it has the off-road equipment you expect.

Safety features such as blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are standard only on the top 392 model; elsewhere, they are part of an option package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Wrangler?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 38.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 7,432 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.86% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $34,416, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $34,620 sits slightly below last year's $37,168.

That price movement suggests the Wrangler has already given back some value, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means resale performance may depend heavily on trim, condition, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Because the Wrangler has a strong enthusiast following, well-kept examples with the right equipment should remain easier to move than neglected ones. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler safe?

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler earns Good and Marginal IIHS ratings, and four-star ratings for frontal crash and three-star rollover protection from NHTSA.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Jeep’s standard safety equipment includes a rearview camera, electronic roll mitigation, and stability control. Blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are standard only on the top 392 model; elsewhere, they are part of an option package.

The safety picture is mixed, and the IIHS results include some weaker ratings along with Poor headlights on some trims. Lane-keeping assist is not offered at all, so you should not expect a full suite of standard driver aids.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 38.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the Wrangler’s off-road-first character with solid axles, multiple powertrains, and open-air versatility.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $29,393, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $34,620 average.
• It emphasizes retro styling, open-air versatility, and strong off-road capability.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $36,097, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $34,620 average.
• It adds a more modern feel with updated technology, safety, and refinement.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current-market value and the Wrangler’s core personality, the 2023 is the balanced choice. If price matters most, the 2022 is the cheaper path; if you want newer tech and refinement, the 2024 is the upgrade to consider.
