How much does the 2023 Jeep Wrangler cost?

Prices have softened 6.57% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 7,467 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 5/5, and the expert rating is 7.83/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise its off-road capability and fun driving experience, and the review summary also points to the Wrangler’s strong appeal for buyers who value character and capability. The trade-offs are clear too: some owners mention high-speed handling concerns and pricing concerns, along with missing comfort features such as seat warmers.

That lines up with the Wrangler’s purpose-first setup in the overview, which emphasizes off-road ability over everyday comfort. It’s a strong fit if you want a rugged SUV with personality, but less compelling if you prioritize refinement and convenience.

Good and great deals account for 38.3% of listings, so there is meaningful room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary points to a vehicle that many owners enjoy and feel good about keeping, especially because of its off-road capability and fun driving experience. That kind of enthusiasm often goes hand in hand with confidence in the vehicle’s day-to-day dependability.

The expert performance notes also reinforce that this is a purpose-built SUV with robust hardware and multiple powertrain choices, which supports the Wrangler’s long-term durability story. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the concept and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not abused off-road.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Wrangler?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a Wrangler’s off-road mission can mean harder use than the average SUV. A pre-purchase inspection matters here, especially if you’re considering one that may have seen trail duty or aftermarket modifications. Focus on overall condition, signs of wear underneath, and whether the vehicle’s equipment matches how you plan to use it.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Some popular trims do not get locking differentials or meaty tires, so base and mainstream versions can miss key off-road hardware.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a V6, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, a 3.0-liter diesel, a 6.4-liter V8, or a plug-in hybrid setup with two electric motors and a 17.3 kWh battery pack.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are standard only on the top 392 model; elsewhere, they are part of an option package. Lane-keeping assist is not offered.
• Infotainment: A 7-inch touchscreen is standard, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the system supports over-the-air updates only for Uconnect.

Which 2023 Jeep Wrangler trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler is offered in 1 trim level: Rubicon 392.

Here's the short version:

Rubicon 392: This is the standout choice if you want the most extreme factory Wrangler experience, with the V8 powertrain, serious off-road hardware, and the strongest performance focus in the lineup. It is the right pick if you care most about capability and speed, but it is also the most expensive path by a wide margin.

The safety package note is important here: blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are standard on the top 392 model, while other trims get them only through an option package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Wrangler?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing softness to reward patience.

• Deal availability: 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 7,467 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.57% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $34,410, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $34,718 sits slightly below last year's $37,158.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also mean less upside if you plan to sell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you should be better positioned to preserve value over time.

Wranglers tend to attract buyers who want capability and character, so demand can remain healthy when the vehicle is clean and well cared for. The current pricing trend also gives you a clearer benchmark for judging whether a used listing is fairly priced.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Jeep Wrangler safe?

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler earns four-star ratings for frontal crash and three-star ratings for rollover from NHTSA.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Jeep’s standard safety equipment is limited to a rearview camera, electronic roll mitigation, and stability control. Blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are standard only on the top 392 model, and lane-keeping assist is not offered.

The IIHS results are mixed, with an almost even split between Good and Marginal ratings, and some headlights on certain trims receive a Poor ranking. That means you should pay close attention to the exact trim and equipment level if safety is a priority.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the Wrangler’s rugged, off-road-first character with multiple powertrain choices and strong trail capability.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $29,588, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $34,718 average.
• It offers retro styling, removable doors, and fold-down windshield versatility.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $36,427, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $34,718 average.
• It adds a more modern feel with updated technology, safety, and refinement.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current pricing and inventory, the 2023 is the sensible target. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2022 is the value play; if you want newer tech and refinement, the 2024 is worth the extra money.
