Used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L for Sale nearGarland, TX

How much does the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L cost?

Prices have softened 2.24% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,634 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L earns a 4.83/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, spaciousness, and comfortable features. They also frequently call out the strong engine performance and towing capability, which fits a family SUV that still feels capable and upscale. In use, that lines up well with Jeep’s three-row formula: you get added passenger space, a premium cabin, and a comfort-first character rather than a hard-edged off-road setup.

The main trade-offs are the underwhelming base engine and the irritating transmission. Even so, the Grand Cherokee L’s comfort, refinement, and upscale feel make it a strong fit if you want a family-friendly SUV with Jeep character. Good and great deals account for 37.8% of listings, so there’s still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for its comfortable features, spaciousness, and solid overall ownership experience. The expert evaluation also supports that impression by describing the SUV as composed and well-built, with a chassis that feels solid and stiff and a ride that remains pliable. Jeep also includes two years of scheduled maintenance with every 2023 model, which helps reduce early ownership friction.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for well, since the base powertrain and transmission are the weak spots to watch.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping higher-mileage examples or vehicles with premium options. Focus on overall condition, build date, and whether the equipment you want is actually present, since this model’s trim spread changes the experience a lot. It’s also worth checking that the vehicle’s features match the listing, because some desirable tech and safety items are trim-dependent.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lower trims use an 8.4-inch touchscreen and a 10-inch digital instrument panel, while Limited, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve get a 10.1-inch touchscreen and full-screen maps on the instrument panel. The lower trims are simpler, so if you want the richer cabin and bigger display setup, you’ll need to move up the lineup.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.6-liter V6 makes 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, while the optional 5.7-liter V8 makes 357 horsepower and 390 pound-feet. The V8 is the better choice if you tow or want stronger low-end response.
• Safety package: Forward emergency braking, rear emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control are standard. Front cross-traffic braking, a backup camera washer, and 360-degree cameras are optional on Limited and Overland trims, while Active Driving Assist is standard only on Summit Reserve.
• Infotainment: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all trims. The lower trims use an 8.4-inch touchscreen, while Limited and above get a 10.1-inch screen; navigation is standard on Limited and Overland.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 4x4 model is rated at 18 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined. The V8 drops to 14 mpg city, 22 mpg highway, and 17 mpg combined.

Which 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is offered in 8 trim levels: Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit, Summit Reserve, and the trims with the High Altitude package and the 4x4-equipped upper trims described in the test data.

Here's the short version:

• Laredo: This is the entry point if you want the Grand Cherokee L’s three-row space and Jeep styling at the lowest price, but it keeps the simpler 8.4-inch touchscreen and the more basic cabin presentation.
• Altitude: This trim adds a more upscale look while staying close to the lower end of the lineup, making it a sensible step up if you want more style without jumping too far in price.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it brings the 10.1-inch touchscreen and standard navigation, giving you a much richer tech experience without moving into luxury-pricing territory.
• Overland: Choose this if you want a more premium feel and are willing to pay for it; it keeps the larger screen and adds more of the upscale character that suits the Grand Cherokee L well.
• Summit: This is the trim for shoppers who want the high-end cabin experience and the strongest mix of luxury and technology, including the premium features highlighted in testing.
• Summit Reserve: This is the top choice if you want the most complete version of the Grand Cherokee L, including the standard Active Driving Assist and the most fully equipped presentation.

The safety package is strong overall, but some features remain trim-dependent, so check carefully before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,634 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.24% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,147, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L's resale value?

The current average of $30,689 sits slightly below last year's $31,392.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, the softer trend means you should expect some depreciation pressure if you buy at the wrong price. The good news is that the Grand Cherokee L still has broad appeal thanks to its space, comfort, and premium image, which can help support demand later. Strong equipment and well-kept condition should matter a lot when it’s time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L safe?

The 2023 Grand Cherokee L scored a Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and it earns five-star ratings in every National Highway Traffic Safety Administration test except rollover, where it earns a four-star rating.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Forward emergency braking, rear emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control are standard. Front cross-traffic braking, a backup camera washer, and 360-degree cameras are optional on Limited and Overland trims. Night vision is available only on Summit and Summit Reserve, and Active Driving Assist is standard only on Summit Reserve.

One important caveat is that the Top Safety Pick+ result applies only to models built after May 2023, so you should verify the build date before buying.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 adds a strong safety story, including a Top Safety Pick+ result for later-built models.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $27,373, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $30,689 average.
• It offers a more luxury-leaning feel with premium materials and a composed driving experience.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of current-market value, strong safety, and broad inventory, the 2023 is the better target. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the smarter price-sensitive alternative, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
