How much does the 2023 Hyundai Sonata cost?

Prices have softened 1.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,350 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Hyundai Sonata a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Hyundai Sonata earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview describes it as a midsize sedan that blends sleek styling, strong feature content, and a wide range of powertrain choices, with gas and hybrid versions, ample room in the back and trunk, and a long list of standard safety and tech features. If you want a relaxing, well-equipped cruiser with broad appeal, this model year fits that use case well. 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Hyundai Sonata reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The overview also points to good reliability and safety rankings, along with a generous set of standard safety features that should help support confidence in daily use. For used buyers, that combination suggests lower ownership anxiety than you might expect from a feature-rich midsize sedan.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Hyundai Sonata?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still prioritize a history report, because even a strong accident-free share does not replace checking the specific car you want. Put the inspection focus on condition, maintenance evidence, and how well the electronics and safety features operate. Since this model leans heavily on modern tech and driver aids, make sure everything works as intended before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Hyundai Sonata?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,350 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.23% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,722, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $21,120 sits slightly below last year's $21,383. That modest decline suggests the market has softened a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also mean future resale gains are limited if pricing stays flat. For a seller, the key takeaway is that well-kept examples should still attract interest, but you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $19,584, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $21,120 average.
• It emphasizes strong value, an outstanding warranty, and a distinctive personality.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping target, the 2023 is the stronger primary choice because it combines broad appeal, strong satisfaction, and a healthy used-car market. If your main goal is to spend less, the 2022 is the better secondary path and may deliver much of the same core appeal for less money.
