Is the 2023 GMC Yukon a good car?

The 2023 GMC Yukon is a mixed but appealing choice if you want a large SUV with a premium feel and modern features. It earns a 3.4/5 user rating, and owners most often praise its quality finishes, spacious interior, smooth ride, and helpful digital dashboard. Is the 2023 GMC Yukon reliable?

The 2023 GMC Yukon stands out as a full-size SUV that blends a commanding presence with a genuinely upscale feel. Owners describe it as smooth and well put together, and the review summary also points to a dependable-feeling cabin experience with quality finishes and a comfortable ride. At the same time, some owners have raised concerns about transmission issues and engine recalls, so used buyers should think carefully about long-term ownership risk and verify maintenance and repair history before committing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 GMC Yukon?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks for signs of prior damage, unresolved recalls, and drivetrain concerns. Pay close attention to overall condition, since a clean-looking listing can still hide expensive issues if maintenance has been inconsistent. If possible, compare several examples so you can separate a well-kept Yukon from one that only looks good on paper.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 GMC Yukon?

This is a moderate buyer's market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,869 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.45% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $54,274, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 GMC Yukon's resale value?

The current average of $54,274 sits slightly below last year's $60,604.

That price movement suggests the Yukon has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, though, it means resale value may continue to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history. A clean, well-documented example should hold up better than one with questionable service records or visible wear.

Should I buy a 2023 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.45% compared with last year.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $45,927, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $54,274 average.
• It offers a more value-focused take on the Yukon with strong capability and plenty of cargo space.

The bottom line:
You should lean toward the 2023 if you want the newer-year pricing trend, a solid pool of accident-free listings, and the current-generation Yukon’s upscale space and tech. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2022 is the better value path, especially if you find one in strong condition with a clean history.
