How much does the 2023 Ford Mustang cost?

Prices are up 8.32% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 2,742 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and conditions.

Is the 2023 Ford Mustang a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Ford Mustang earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction.

Owners consistently praise its performance, styling, and value, and many also highlight the driving experience and the convertible feature. The overview also frames it as a modern take on an iconic nameplate, which fits if you want a rear-wheel-drive sports car with broad engine and transmission choices. With 32.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Ford Mustang reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a car that many people enjoy living with, and it specifically reflects a dependable ownership experience for a lot of shoppers. That said, the model-year overview also flags potential trouble spots on some versions, so reliability can depend heavily on how the car was maintained and which configuration you choose. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable if you focus on condition, service history, and a careful pre-purchase inspection.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Mustang?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report to confirm accident status, title history, and maintenance patterns. Put inspection priority on the drivetrain and any signs of wear that could affect long-term ownership, especially if the car has higher mileage or a performance-oriented setup. Focus on overall condition, because a clean-looking listing can still hide deferred maintenance or prior damage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford Mustang?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,742 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 8.32% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 85.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,728, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford Mustang's resale value?

The current average of $32,247 sits slightly above last year's $29,771.

That upward move suggests the market has been willing to pay more for this model year, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. A stronger current price can help support resale value, especially when demand stays steady and inventory remains active. If you buy well and keep the car in good condition, you should have a reasonable path to holding value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 8.32% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $38,016, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $32,247 average.
• It brings a more modern cabin and updated tech.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the better starting point if you want a strong mix of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If you want the newer cabin and tech and are willing to pay more, the 2024 is the upgrade path; if value matters most, the 2023 is the smarter buy.
