How much does the 2023 Ford Mustang cost?

Prices are up 6.19% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 2,629 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare before you buy.

Is the 2023 Ford Mustang a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Ford Mustang earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its performance, aesthetics, and value, and many also highlight the driving experience, the sound system, and the convertible option. That fits a car that’s meant to deliver a driver-focused experience first, with broad appeal for shoppers who want a rear-wheel-drive sports car with multiple engine and transmission choices. With 34.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Ford Mustang reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes that the car feels dependable and enjoyable over time, especially when you value performance and a satisfying driving experience. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific car has been maintained well, since condition matters a lot on a performance model.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Mustang?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report so you can confirm accident status, title history, and maintenance patterns. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the drivetrain, transmission behavior, and overall wear, since condition can vary widely on a performance car. Focus on how the car was used and maintained, because that will matter more than mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford Mustang?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,629 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 6.19% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 83.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,728, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford Mustang's resale value?

The current average of $31,662 sits slightly above last year's $29,816.

That upward move suggests the market still values this model year well, which can help support resale strength if you buy carefully. A car that holds demand while staying in a recognizable price band is usually easier to sell later, especially when shoppers are still comparing it against newer alternatives. Strong owner satisfaction also helps keep interest steady when it’s time to list the car again.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 6.19% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $38,169, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $31,662 average.
• It adds meaningful interior and technology upgrades.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2023 if you want the stronger value play and a wide pool of listings to compare. If you’re willing to pay more for newer tech and a more updated cabin, the 2024 is the better upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2023 is the smarter starting point.
