overall

Summary
With 154 currently listed for sale near Raleigh, NC and an average price of $30,143, 45.5% of 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-Es for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.5 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E stands out as a polished electric crossover that blends style, performance, technology, and utility. It is also described as a showcase of Ford’s engineering and technological prowess, which fits the way it presents itself as more than just a practical EV. Buyers looking for an electric SUV with a sporty personality will find plenty to like, especially since it is noted as fun to drive, comfortable, and impressive on the technology front.
For 2023, the Mach-E’s Premium trim level offers up to 290 miles of range, while the California Route 1 comes only with all-wheel drive and 312 miles of range. The GT also gets a standard panoramic glass roof, and new Carbonized Gray and Vapor Blue paint colors debut. Ford also introduced an enhanced version of its BlueCruise hands-free highway driving technology, adding to the Mach-E’s appeal for shoppers who want advanced driver assistance in an EV.
The tradeoffs are worth noting, though. The Mach-E is described as having unimpressive electric range, choppy ride quality, and a need for a head-up display. Owner feedback generally reinforces its strengths, with praise for its performance, stylish design, advanced technology, all-wheel-drive capability, and quiet, smooth ride, while also pointing to price and range as common concerns.

Switched from a performance model Y to this. No regrets. Not as neck breaking fast but quick enough. Better ride quality

Finally pulled the trigger and purchased my Mach-E GT. No regrets, I love all the features, love the performance, and look of my GT. Comparing to the Tesla Y, the charging I thought would be a challenge but the EV charging market has significantly improved and is more reliable and available. The range could be better, but like most EVs, performance or range? But getting over 250 miles a charge is not bad at all considering how the car performs. Love it, go get one!!

It’s really too expensive, but pricing will improve with supply and competition. Smooth, quiet, comfortable, powerful and extremely well equipped. Door and panel gaps are consistent and tight. Build quality seems top notch. I would like a little quicker access to the camera button, but it’s not a big issue. There may be a quicker way already built in, but I haven’t found it. So far a great car.

Is the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E a good car?
Yes — the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Safety.
Owners consistently praise its impressive performance, stylish design, and advanced technology, and they also like the all-wheel-drive capability and quiet, smooth ride. The main trade-offs are price and range, while the expert review also points to unimpressive electric range and a choppy ride quality.
If you want an electric SUV with a sporty personality, this year’s Mach-E fits that brief well, especially if you value style and tech as much as everyday usability. 42.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels reliable, dependable, and trouble-free in day-to-day use, with strong confidence in its long-term ownership experience. The expert review also describes it as a vehicle you can count on for its overall execution and polished character.
Ford’s BlueCruise and broader driver-assistance setup add to the sense of modern dependability, and the review notes that the model remains eligible for a federal tax credit, which can help offset ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the battery, charging behavior, and software-related features have been well cared for.
What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing higher-mileage examples or cars with more advanced equipment. Focus on overall condition, charging behavior, and whether the features you want are actually included on the specific trim you’re considering.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The lineup includes Select, Premium, California Route 1, and GT. The base Select is the most stripped-down of the group, while Premium adds more range-oriented appeal and the GT brings a more distinctive look with revised bumpers, unique 20-inch wheels, and a dark front panel. If you want the best-value balance of range, equipment, and price, Premium is the trim to study first.
- Powertrain: Across the lineup, you can choose single-motor rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive, with standard-range and extended-range battery packs. Output spans from 266 to 480 horsepower and 317 to 634 pound-feet of torque, so you should match the setup to whether you care more about efficiency or stronger acceleration.
- Safety package: Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 is standard, along with the latest BlueCruise hands-free highway driving system. The surround-view camera and BlueCruise are described as available on Select and standard on other variants, so verify equipment carefully on the exact car you’re shopping.
- Infotainment: You get a 15.5-inch vertical touchscreen with Sync 4A, over-the-air updates, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, and a digital instrument display. The system is feature-rich, so make sure the screen, connectivity, and software functions all work properly.
- Range & charging: The Premium trim offers up to 290 miles of range, and the California Route 1 is listed at 312 miles. The GT is rated at 270 miles, and the GT Performance Edition drops to 260 miles. The GT Performance Edition also adds an adaptive damping suspension, larger front brakes, and summer performance tires.
- Battery health: With any used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, confirm how the car has typically been charged, and review how much battery warranty coverage remains. A car that has mostly seen home charging is often easier to live with than one that has relied heavily on DC fast charging.
Which 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E trim should I buy?
The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E is offered in 4 trim levels: Select, Premium, California Route 1, and GT.
Here's the short version:
- Select: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Mach-E experience at the lowest starting price. Just be sure the equipment mix matches your needs, since some features are more readily associated with the higher trims.
- Premium: This is the best-value trim to focus on if you want the strongest blend of range, comfort, and everyday appeal. It also gets up to 290 miles of range, which makes it the most balanced choice for many used shoppers.
- California Route 1: Choose this if range is your priority and you want the version that comes only with all-wheel drive and 312 miles of range. It’s the most range-focused mainstream choice in the lineup.
- GT: Pick this if you want the most performance-oriented Mach-E, with 480 horsepower, 600 pound-feet of torque, and a more aggressive appearance. It suits you best if acceleration and style matter more than maximizing range.
Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 is standard across the lineup, and BlueCruise availability should be verified carefully on Select models.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E?
It looks like a buyer’s market if you’re shopping carefully.
- Deal availability: 42.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,347 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.48% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 91.7% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $29,051, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E's resale value?
The current average of $30,374 sits slightly below last year's $31,471.
That softer pricing suggests the market has moved a bit in buyers’ favor, which can make it harder for sellers to command a premium unless the car is especially well equipped or exceptionally clean. If you’re planning to resell later, the current trend implies you should expect value retention to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim desirability.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E safe?
The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E earns top marks in most IIHS assessments, and it was a Top Safety Pick for the 2022 calendar year. It also got five-star ratings for side-impact protection and rollover resistance from NHTSA, though frontal-impact results were unavailable at the time of the review.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Ford’s Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 is standard across the lineup, along with the latest BlueCruise hands-free highway driving system. Ford also says BlueCruise 1.2 adds lane-change functionality, predictive speed assist, and lane repositioning to give adjacent vehicles more space.
One caveat is that the review specifically says the Mach-E needs a head-up display, since some BlueCruise messages are only shown in the instrument cluster. You should also verify whether the surround-view camera and BlueCruise are standard or optional on the exact trim you’re considering.
Should I buy a 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2023 if:
- 42.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.48% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- Ford added enhanced BlueCruise 1.2, including lane-change capability and predictive speed assist.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $32,410, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $30,374 average.
- Ford adds a new Rally trim and broader lineup upgrades.
The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2023 is the stronger buy because prices have eased and inventory is healthy. If you’re willing to pay more for the newer model year and its added upgrades, the 2024 is the better path; price-sensitive buyers should stay focused on the 2023.
