Overview

The automotive world is going electric, and that includes commercial vehicles like trucks and vans. Ford, a leader in the commercial space, became one of the first to offer a fully electric van. The E-Transit debuted for 2022 with a range of up to 126 miles and all the practicality and usefulness that buyers expect in a full-size work van.
The E-Transit will carry over into 2023 mostly unchanged, apart from a stout $3,700 price increase. Strong demand and increased production costs have caused Ford to respond by bumping the price up. With a range of just 126 miles, the E-Transit might seem impractical, but that distance is ideal for in-town deliveries and tradespeople who spend most of their time traveling short distances from job to job.
A 68-kWh battery provides power for the van, and it features a rear e-motor that produces 266 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. Like Ford’s other electrified vehicles, the F-150 Lightning and F-150 Powerboost, the E-Transit features a Pro Power Onboard generator that can provide 2.4 kilowatts of power for tools and other equipment. It can also provide temporary power for homes during outages.
It may carry an advanced electric powertrain, but the E-Transit is still a workhorse, first and foremost. The van is available with three roof heights and three lengths. Ford offers cargo, chassis cab, and cutaway body configurations and notes that the E-Transit offers the same cargo dimensions and capabilities as its gas-powered counterpart.
Ford sells several upfits for the E-Transit, which include shelving, cargo anchors, and custom interior components for different job functions like plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. Depending on the roof height, the van can be fitted with overhead shelving, cargo boxes, and interior work surfaces.
Commercial vans aren’t particularly lauded for their tech and convenience features, but the E-Transit is better than most. It comes standard with a 12-inch touchscreen running Ford’s excellent Sync 4 infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, along with over-the-air (OTA) updates, Bluetooth, and navigation. The system’s cloud updates enable navigation with traffic and other information delivered in real-time.
Most advanced safety tech is held back for added-cost options packages, which is par for the course with most commercial vehicles. Available features include speed-limit recognition, adaptive cruise control, reverse-brake assist, and more.

Its Fantastic in everyway from the drive, the feel, the space, the look. the one hold up i have is the range from a full charge, i drove it empty of cargo and was low on charge. i drove it 4.2 miles and the gauge dropped 9.7 miles. when the stated local range is 116, i have to assume its rrealistically 58 miles, 58 miles is close to being absolutely useless. other than that, this van is awesome.

Smooth ride, easy to drive, excellent power with heavy loads...at first I was worried about the range but it is actually perfect for my business and I am loving...

Features were great but 120 mile range didnt make it for an RV.

There are 139 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
If you find a listing below $29,300.93, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2023 Ford E-Transit a good car?
With a user rating of 3.67/5, this model lands in a middle-ground spot where condition, configuration, and pricing matter a lot to your decision.
The share of good and great deals suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.
What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford E-Transit?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should prioritize a pre-purchase inspection and focus on overall condition, since commercial-use vehicles can vary widely in wear. Pay close attention to maintenance records, body condition, and any signs of heavy use before you commit.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford E-Transit?
This looks more like a seller's market, so you should be selective and ready to move when the right listing appears.
- Deal availability: 20.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 139 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices are up 7.90% year-over-year.
- Clean inventory: 89.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $29,300.93, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2023 Ford E-Transit's resale value?
The current average of $35,007 sits slightly above last year's $32,444.
That price movement points to stronger market positioning than a year ago, which can support resale value if you buy well and keep the vehicle in good condition. If you plan to sell later, a clean history and strong maintenance record should help you protect more of that value. Pricing still matters, though, so paying near the low end of the range gives you more room to come out ahead.
Should I buy a 2023 Ford E-Transit or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2023 if:
- 20.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices are up 7.90% year-over-year.
The bottom line: The 2023 makes sense if you want a current-year option with a decent share of clean listings and some deal potential, but you should shop carefully because prices have moved up. If you're more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a better shot at a lower entry point, especially if you can find a well-kept example with strong history and condition.
