How much does the 2023 Ford Bronco cost?

Prices have softened 9.62% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,703 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Ford Bronco earns a 4.3/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its off-road capability, comfort, and features, and they also like the rugged design and driving experience. The main trade-offs are pricing that some owners feel is too high and concerns about fuel efficiency and cargo practicality.

That fits the Bronco’s mission well: it’s built for shoppers who want capability and character first, with everyday usability still part of the package. It also posts a 35.3% share of good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free enough to inspire strong owner enthusiasm, especially among shoppers who value ruggedness and long-term confidence. The expert drive notes also emphasize that the Bronco’s driver-assistance systems function without annoying false alarms.

If you plan to keep one for the long haul, the biggest ownership risk is that fuel costs and practicality may matter more to you over time than they do at purchase.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Bronco?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report on any Bronco you’re considering, then prioritize a careful inspection of body condition, interior wear, and signs of hard use. Because this model is often bought for trail duty, it’s smart to focus on underbody condition, wheel and tire wear, and whether the vehicle has been modified or repaired after off-road use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base trim is described as more bare-bones, while the Raptor sits at the top with a wide stance, elevated height, and huge fender flares. The Heritage trim adds a throwback grille, roof, wheels, and plaid seat upholstery, and the Heritage Limited is described as the more capable version.
• Powertrain: The Bronco is available with a 2.3-liter four-cylinder, an optional 2.7-liter V6, and a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 in Raptor form. The base engine is described as adequate for on- and off-road use, while the V6 options add more power.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, trailer-sway assist, and Trail Turn Assist. The Mid package adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking proximity sensors, and automatic high beams, while the High and Luxe packages add more advanced features.
• Infotainment: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Ford’s SYNC 4. Most Broncos come with an eight-inch touchscreen, and a 12-inch display is available.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder engine is estimated at up to 20 mpg combined, and depending on options that can drop as low as 17 mpg. The 2.7-liter V6 is rated between 17 and 18 mpg, and the Raptor is estimated at 15 mpg.

Which 2023 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?

The 2023 Ford Bronco is offered in 9 trim levels: Base, Heritage, Heritage Limited, Black Diamond, and Raptor.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the most stripped-down Bronco, with steel wheels and a more bare-bones look. It makes sense if you want the entry point into the lineup, but it lacks the added equipment found in the more feature-rich trims and packages.
• Heritage: This trim leans hardest into the retro styling theme with a white grille, roof, wheels, and plaid seat upholstery. It’s a good fit if you want the Bronco’s personality to stand out as much as its capability.
• Heritage Limited: This is the more capable take on the Heritage theme, so it suits you if you want the nostalgic look with a stronger equipment story.
• Black Diamond: This is the best-value trim to consider because the source calls it a good middle ground, and it’s the one the experts would pair with the Sasquatch package for added off-road ability.
• Raptor: This is the top-end choice if you want the most extreme Bronco character, with the widest stance, tallest presence, and biggest tires in the lineup.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that the Mid package is not available on the Base trim, so base-model shoppers miss out on several key driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford Bronco?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,703 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.62% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $40,468, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford Bronco's resale value?

The current average of $40,468 sits slightly below last year's $44,777.

That price movement suggests the Bronco has cooled from its earlier level, which can help you as a buyer today but may also mean future sellers face a softer market than they did a year ago. Even so, the Bronco’s strong identity and broad appeal should help it remain recognizable to used shoppers.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco safe?

The 2023 Ford Bronco earns four-star ratings in frontal crash protection and three-star ratings for rollover protection from NHTSA, while the IIHS awarded it Good scores in all crashworthiness tests except head restraints and seats, where it received Acceptable.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, trailer-sway assist, and Trail Turn Assist. The Mid package adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking proximity sensors, and automatic high beams, while the High package adds front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system and the Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.

A key caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you need to move up the lineup or add packages to get more of the Bronco’s driver-assistance tech.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 adds Heritage-inspired variants that broaden the lineup’s style and appeal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $36,751, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $40,468 average.
• It offers serious off-road ability with broad everyday usability.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $43,898, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $40,468 average.
• It adds a standard 12-inch Sync 4 infotainment system and fresh visual updates.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, availability, and owner satisfaction, the 2023 is the strongest all-around pick. If your priority is spending less, the 2022 is the better value path; if you want the newest updates and can pay more, the 2024 is worth a look.
