Used 2023 Dodge Challenger for Sale nearColorado Springs, CO

How much does the 2023 Dodge Challenger cost?

Prices are up 2.98% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 2,508 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare before you buy.

Is the 2023 Dodge Challenger a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Dodge Challenger earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, fun driving experience, and modern tech features. They also highlight the ample legroom and trunk space, and many say it delivers strong value for a muscle car.

On the trade-off side, the expert review points to poor fuel economy and outdated technology, while advanced safety features are not standard. That fits the Challenger’s use case as a comfort-oriented, old-school muscle car for you if you care more about character and straight-line punch than efficiency or the latest tech.

Only 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards shoppers who move carefully.

Is the 2023 Dodge Challenger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a car that feels powerful, fun, and satisfying to live with, and it also emphasizes strong value. The expert review adds that the Challenger has held up remarkably well considering its age, which supports the idea that it can be a dependable choice when maintained properly.

The expert notes also describe it as a car with a long-running formula and a final-year sendoff, which can be reassuring if you want a proven platform rather than a brand-new design. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about novelty and more about finding a well-kept example that hasn’t been neglected or abused.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Dodge Challenger?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified or driven hard. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of wear that might not match the mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Black Ghost stands out with Pitch Black paint, white rear fender graphics, a “gator skin” roof graphic, chrome exterior details, premium Laguna semi-aniline leather upholstery, simulated suede trim, and genuine carbon fiber accents. It also shows how the Challenger’s retro design and upscale materials can be layered over a cabin that still relies on plenty of plastic, and the base SXT is much more stripped back by comparison.
• Powertrain: The Black Ghost uses a high-output supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with 807 hp and 707 lb-ft of torque. The Challenger lineup also includes Hemi V8-powered SRT variants, and the car’s character is defined by huge power rather than fuel economy.
• Safety package: The Black Ghost includes a low-resolution reversing camera, rear parking sensors, automatic high-beam headlights, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control are unavailable on the SRT Hellcat Redeye and, by extension, the Black Ghost.
• Infotainment: The Black Ghost uses an 8.4-inch Uconnect 4 touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth streaming audio, a six-month SiriusXM trial, navigation, and a Harman Kardon premium sound system. The interface is intuitive, but the voice recognition system shows its age.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review says fuel economy is poor, and it cites 15 mpg in combined driving, with a tested result of 15.7 mpg on a Southern California loop.

Which 2023 Dodge Challenger trim should I buy?

The 2023 Dodge Challenger is offered in 2 trim levels: SXT, Black Ghost.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the Challenger’s shape and personality without chasing the most expensive special-edition hardware. It is the trim to consider if you want the lowest starting point in the lineup.
• Black Ghost: This is the standout choice if you want the most exclusive and most fully featured version described here. It adds the special-edition styling, premium interior materials, and the high-output supercharged V8, making it the best fit for you if you want the full sendoff experience.

The safety content notes that advanced driver-assistance features are limited, and forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control are unavailable on the Black Ghost.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Dodge Challenger?

This is a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when you find the right car.

• Deal availability: 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,508 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.98% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 82.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,196, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Dodge Challenger's resale value?

The current average of $42,802 sits slightly above last year's $41,563.

That upward move suggests the Challenger is holding buyer interest well, even as it reaches the end of its run. For a future seller, that kind of price strength can help support a healthier resale position, especially if your car is clean, well maintained, and lightly modified.

The model’s final-year status and strong enthusiast appeal can also help keep demand steady. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Dodge Challenger safe?

The 2023 Dodge Challenger earns favorable ratings only in two outdated frontal- and side-impact tests from IIHS, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gives the car high marks but hasn’t updated its crash-test standards in over a decade.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety equipment is limited: the test car had a low-resolution reversing camera, rear parking sensors, automatic high-beam headlights, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control are unavailable on the SRT Hellcat Redeye and, by extension, the Black Ghost.

That means you should treat the Challenger as a car with a thin safety net. If safety tech matters a lot to you, you’ll want to pay close attention to trim and equipment, because the standard setup leaves several modern protections off the table.

Should I buy a 2023 Dodge Challenger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.98% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 model year is the Challenger’s final year, and the expert review frames it as a last-call muscle car with more power than ever before.

The 2023 is the one to choose if you want the final-year Challenger experience, especially if you value the special-edition sendoff and the model’s peak-power personality. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby year may give you a lower entry point, but you’ll be giving up the final-year appeal that makes this one especially desirable.
