Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — 4.75/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and the truck’s appeal comes from its mix of serious capability and a more modern, better-equipped cabin. The 2023 Silverado 2500HD is built for real work, with strong towing numbers, a standard gas V8, an available Duramax diesel, and a 10-speed automatic. It also gives you useful everyday tech and trailering equipment, so you are not giving up convenience just to get heavy-duty strength.

With 34.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Silverado 2500HD is described as a capable heavy-duty truck with a well-developed set of cameras and trailering aids, plus a cabin that feels more current than older work-focused pickups. Its broad equipment list and strong towing hardware suggest a truck designed to handle demanding use without feeling stripped down.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is the usual heavy-duty-truck tradeoff: bigger size, more demanding use, and higher operating costs can make condition and maintenance history especially important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on towing-related wear, brake condition, suspension components, and signs of hard use. You should also pay close attention to the cabin electronics, trailering equipment, and any evidence that the truck has spent its life doing heavy-duty work rather than light commuting.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,930 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.87% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $44,888, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $44,941 sits slightly below last year's $49,861.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also mean future resale gains are harder to count on. If you plan to sell later, condition and mileage will matter even more because buyers will likely compare your truck against a fairly broad supply of similar listings.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $54,767, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $44,941 average.
• It adds a mid-cycle refresh with better styling and a new off-road trim.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter starting point because it combines strong capability, solid equipment, and a lower average price. If you are willing to pay more for the refreshed styling and added off-road focus, the 2024 is the better upgrade path; otherwise, price-sensitive buyers should stay with the 2023 and shop carefully for a clean, well-maintained example.
