How much does the 2023 Cadillac Escalade cost?

Prices have softened 9.48% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,079 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Cadillac Escalade earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise its luxury, elegant design, and comfortable ride, and they also like the stylish interior and the absence of accidents. In use-case terms, it fits you best if you want a full-size luxury SUV with strong presence, serious people-moving ability, and plenty of cargo space.

The main trade-offs are a cheap-feeling interior in some areas and an underwhelming base engine. Even so, 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers highlighting the absence of accidents and the kind of comfort that makes the Escalade easy to live with over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that it carries over mostly unchanged, which can be reassuring if you want a proven setup rather than a fresh redesign.

The powertrain is described as smooth enough for gentle cruising, and the diesel option is noted for its immediate torque and better fuel economy. Cadillac also includes a first scheduled maintenance visit on the house, which helps reduce early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that expensive luxury-SUV repairs can add up if prior maintenance was inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Cadillac Escalade?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace documentation. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on cabin wear, electronics, and how the vehicle drives over rough pavement. Given the Escalade’s size and complexity, condition matters as much as mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Luxury trim uses leatherette upholstery, while higher trims add leather combinations and richer cabin details. The cabin’s strongest visual impact comes from the curved screen array and available wood trim, but some lower-touch points still feel borrowed from cheaper GM vehicles.
• Powertrain: The standard 6.2-liter gasoline V8 makes 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and it can shut off up to six cylinders during gentle cruising. An optional 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 is also mentioned, and it delivers smoother low-end torque with better fuel economy.
• Safety package: Forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a Safety Alert seat, rear parking sensors, and a rear seat reminder are standard. Reverse emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise are optional.
• Infotainment: The Escalade uses a huge span of OLED screens across the dash, and the display setup is among the sharpest and clearest in the industry. Super Cruise is available as a hands-free highway driving system, and the cabin also includes a 36-speaker AKG audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard-length model with optional 4WD is rated at a combined 16 mpg, while the diesel with 4WD is rated at a combined 22 mpg.

Which 2023 Cadillac Escalade trim should I buy?

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade is offered in 5 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Premium Luxury Platinum, Sport, and Sport Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the Escalade’s core appeal: huge presence, three rows, and the big-screen dashboard experience. It makes the most sense if you want the nameplate and space without chasing every luxury upgrade.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more of the upscale cabin feel without jumping all the way to the Platinum pricing. If you want the sweet spot between equipment and cost, start here.
• Sport: Choose this if you prefer the darker exterior treatment and a more aggressive look. It keeps the Escalade’s big-tech personality while leaning into style.
• Premium Luxury Platinum: This trim is for you if you want the richest cabin presentation and more of the premium touches that make the Escalade feel special. It’s the right pick if interior ambiance matters most.
• Sport Platinum: This is the most dramatic-looking mainstream trim, with darkened exterior details and the most upscale sport-oriented presentation. It suits you if you want maximum visual presence and a fully loaded feel.

Safety-wise, forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a Safety Alert seat, rear parking sensors, and a rear seat reminder are standard, while several advanced driver-assistance features remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Cadillac Escalade?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,079 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.48% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $66,427, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade's resale value?

The current average of $66,427 sits slightly below last year's $73,386.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy more confidently now but may temper near-term resale upside. If you plan to sell later, the current pricing trend means you should be realistic about how much value the Escalade may recover in the short run.

Still, the Escalade’s strong demand profile, large-SUV appeal, and high owner satisfaction can help support future buyer interest. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment and clean history should remain easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade safe?

The 2023 Escalade earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a Safety Alert seat that vibrates to warn you of possible danger, rear parking sensors, and a rear seat reminder are standard. Reverse emergency braking is optional, and blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise are optional as well.

A key caveat is that the Escalade has not received IIHS safety ratings, so you should lean more heavily on the NHTSA results and the available driver-assistance equipment when evaluating it.

Should I buy a 2023 Cadillac Escalade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.48% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over mostly unchanged, so you’re getting the refined version of the redesigned Escalade.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $60,029, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $66,427 average.
• It adds everyday convenience and standard safety upgrades over the prior year.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current-market value, high satisfaction, and a broad inventory pool, the 2023 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the smarter budget-conscious alternative.
