Used 2023 BMW X1 for Sale nearPhiladelphia, PA

How much does the 2023 BMW X1 cost?

Prices have softened 5.50% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,037 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2023 BMW X1 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 BMW X1 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

It stands out as a small luxury crossover that feels zippy and fun to drive while still offering useful capability and plenty of cargo space. Standard all-wheel drive and premium interior materials help it feel upscale for the segment.

The trade-offs are that some advanced safety features are not standard, and the features many shoppers want can push the price up significantly. Even so, if you want a compact luxury SUV that balances driving enjoyment with everyday utility, this one fits that brief well.

With 40.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2023 BMW X1 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 X1 is described as a refined evolution of the previous generation, with a stronger, more premium feel and useful capability. Its standard all-wheel drive and upscale cabin materials support the idea that it should hold up well as a daily driver, especially if you value a compact luxury crossover that feels more polished than many rivals.

Its performance hardware also points to a well-developed package: the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder makes 241 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, and the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is described as working nicely on its own. BMW also says the Adaptive M Suspension and damping systems were upgraded for better comfort and stability.

If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is paying extra for the features you want, so it pays to compare equipment carefully and inspect condition closely.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 BMW X1?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the cabin electronics, driver-assistance features, and any signs of wear on the interior and wheels. Since this model can get expensive once options are added, make sure the specific car you’re considering has the equipment you actually want.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin feels distinctly premium, with the BMW Curved Display, standard LED headlights and taillights, and available xLine or M Sport appearance packages. The base setup is well equipped, but some of the more desirable comfort and appearance upgrades are tied to packages.
• Powertrain: The 2.0-liter twin-turbo four-cylinder makes 241 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, and the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission replaces the previous automatic. It is rated at 25 mpg city, 34 highway, and 28 combined.
• Safety package: Active blind-spot detection is standard and includes exit warning, while the front-collision warning system includes pedestrian- and cyclist detection with brake intervention. Active Driving Assistant Professional adds speed limit assist, extended traffic-jam assistant, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control with stop & go.
• Infotainment: The BMW Curved Display combines a 10.7-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch driver display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and Live Cockpit Professional adds a full-color head-up display and augmented reality navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The X1 is rated at 25 mpg city, 34 highway, and 28 combined, and premium fuel is recommended.

Which 2023 BMW X1 trim should I buy?

The 2023 BMW X1 is offered in 1 trim level: xDrive28i.

Here's the short version:

The xDrive28i is the trim to buy because it is the only one available and already gives you the core X1 formula: standard all-wheel drive, strong performance, and a premium-feeling cabin. It also delivers the best value by default, since there is no lower trim to step down to and no need to overthink the lineup.

BMW’s safety setup is strong for the class, with standard active blind-spot detection, exit warning, and front-collision warning with pedestrian- and cyclist-detection brake intervention.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 BMW X1?

This looks like a buyer-friendly moment, with a healthy mix of pricing softness and available inventory.

• Deal availability: 40.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,037 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.50% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,428, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 BMW X1's resale value?

The current average of $30,428 sits slightly below last year's $32,200.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer now, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations if the market stays competitive. The current range suggests the X1 is still holding meaningful value, especially for shoppers who want a premium compact crossover with standard all-wheel drive and strong equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 BMW X1 safe?

The 2023 BMW X1 earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Active blind-spot detection is standard, and it includes an exit warning function that can alert occupants to approaching hazards when opening the door. The standard front-collision warning system also includes pedestrian- and cyclist-detection brake intervention.

BMW’s Active Driving Assistant Professional is available and adds speed limit assist, extended traffic-jam assistant, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control with stop & go. A 360-degree camera system is available as part of the Premium Package, and Active Park Distance Control, Back-Up Assistant, and Parking Assistant Plus are also available.

Some advanced safety features are not standard, so you’ll want to confirm exactly which driver-assistance systems are fitted on the used X1 you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2023 BMW X1 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 40.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.50% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The all-new third-generation X1 brings more capability and plenty of cargo space while staying zippy and fun to drive.

The bottom line: If you want the newest X1 with the strongest mix of performance, utility, and standard all-wheel drive, the 2023 is the one to target. If your priority is spending less, a different year may be worth a look, but you should expect to give up some of the freshness and capability that define this redesign.
