Used 2022 Toyota Tundra for Sale nearGrand Junction, CO

How much does the 2022 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have softened 9.01% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,319 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare trims, cab styles, and condition.

Is the 2022 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Toyota Tundra earns a 4.69/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its powerful engine, advanced features, and reliability, and many also like its solid feel and smooth ride. That lines up with the Tundra’s use case as a full-size half-ton pickup that offers rear-wheel drive or available four-wheel drive, plus Double Cab and CrewMax configurations for shoppers who want flexibility in a work-ready truck. The main trade-offs are that current market prices can feel high and the value proposition may not match the cost for every buyer. Even so, 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.69/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to reliability, durability, and a truck that feels dependable over time, with owners also calling out its solid construction and trouble-free character. The expert evaluation reinforces that impression by noting the Tundra’s well-deserved reputation for durability and value, along with a loyal owner base that tends to keep these trucks for a long time. Toyota also includes standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 and the Star Safety System, which adds to the sense that the truck is built for long-term use. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is paying too much for a truck that may be excellent but still carries a premium.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Tundra?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on every candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for towing, off-roading, or heavy daily work. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of wear in the cabin, bed, suspension, and tires. Because this model year is newer and more expensive than the previous generation, condition matters a lot when you compare listings.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SR is the most stripped-down version, while higher trims add more premium materials and amenities. The 14-inch touchscreen is standard on upper grades and optional on SR5, while the 8-inch screen is standard on SR and SR5, so base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to equipment gaps.
• Powertrain: The standard i-Force twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 makes 389 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, while the i-Force Max hybrid raises output to 437 hp and 583 lb-ft. Toyota estimates the gas engine at 18 mpg city/23 mpg highway/20 mpg combined with RWD and 17 mpg city/22 mpg highway/19 mpg combined with 4WD.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard and includes pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar adaptive cruise control, lane-departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, automatic high beams, and road sign assist. Blind-spot monitor is not available on SR and is standard on all other trim levels except SR.
• Infotainment: An 8-inch touchscreen is standard on SR and SR5, while a 14-inch touchscreen is standard on Limited and above and optional on SR5. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all models, and Toyota Connected services are included with a trial period.
• Fuel efficiency: Toyota estimates 18 mpg city/23 mpg highway/20 mpg combined for RWD gas models and 17 mpg city/22 mpg highway/19 mpg combined for 4WD gas models.

Which 2022 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2022 Toyota Tundra is offered in 6 trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794, and TRD Pro.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and a straightforward work truck. You get the standard twin-turbo V6, Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, and the 8-inch touchscreen, but you should expect fewer comfort and convenience features than the higher trims.
• SR5: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it sits in the core of the lineup and adds more flexibility without jumping too far in price. It can be optioned with the 14-inch touchscreen, and it’s one of the trims Toyota expects to sell in the highest volume.
• Limited: This is the sweet spot if you want a more upscale cabin and stronger tech content. The 14-inch touchscreen is standard here, and you can also get the 12-speaker JBL audio system and a digital instrument panel on hybrid versions.
• Platinum: This trim is for you if you want a more premium-feeling truck with more available tech, including the head-up display option. It builds on the Limited’s equipment and pushes the Tundra further into luxury-truck territory.
• 1794: This is the luxury-focused choice, and it suits you if cabin comfort and upscale presentation matter most. It starts at a much higher price and can be equipped with the head-up display, making it a strong pick for buyers who want a more refined full-size pickup.
• TRD Pro: This is the flagship if you want the most off-road-focused version in the lineup. It comes standard with 4WD, FOX shocks, aluminum skid plates, and unique styling details, so it’s the trim to choose if you want the most capability and the most distinctive look.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard across the lineup, while blind-spot monitoring is standard on all trims except SR and available on SR5 as part of a package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Tundra?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively and still find decent value.

• Deal availability: 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,319 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.01% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,236, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $38,236 sits slightly below last year's $42,020.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled from a year ago, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at a strong price and keep the truck in clean condition, you’ll be better positioned when it’s time to sell. Trucks with broad appeal, strong equipment, and a loyal following tend to hold buyer interest better than niche models.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.69/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Toyota Tundra safe?

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard, and it includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar adaptive cruise control, lane-departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, automatic high beams, and road sign assist. The Star Safety System is also standard, adding enhanced vehicle stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, and smart-stop technology. Eight airbags, LATCH connectors on the outboard second-row seats, rear child-protector locks, tire-pressure monitoring, hill-start control, drive-start control, active headrests, and parking support brake with rear cross-traffic alert are also standard.

Blind-spot monitor is not available on SR and is standard on all other trim levels except SR, where it is not available.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.69/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings a new powertrain, a modern cabin, and a major technology upgrade.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $38,525, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $38,236 average.
• It leans on a proven, older formula with a straightforward truck character.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $42,378, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $38,236 average.
• It mostly carries over the redesign, with an SX appearance package added to SR5.

The bottom line: If you want the biggest leap in technology and powertrain design, the 2022 is the right target. If you’re shopping on a tighter budget, the 2021 can still make sense for its proven simplicity, while the 2023 is best if you want the newer truck with minimal changes and don’t mind paying more.
