Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Avalon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 44.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $28,044, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $28,982 average.
• It offers a roomy, comfortable cabin with a more upscale feel than a mainstream midsize sedan.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2022 if you want the stronger current-market mix of pricing, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2021 is the better secondary path because it comes in below the current average while still delivering the Avalon’s core strengths.
