Is the 2022 RAM 3500 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 RAM 3500 earns a 4.86/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, towing capability, and spacious interior, and many also like the unique RamBox feature and the truck’s comfort for daily use. That fits especially well if you want a heavy-duty truck that can handle serious work while still feeling more upscale and livable than a typical hauler. With 31.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 RAM 3500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.86/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also highlights dependable-feeling performance, with owners describing the truck as powerful and well suited to long-term use. At the same time, some reviewers mention mixed feelings about transmission reliability, so you should pay close attention to service records and how the truck has been maintained. For used buyers, that means the ownership risk is manageable if you focus on condition and history rather than assuming every example has been treated the same.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 RAM 3500?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm there are no accident or title issues before you go any further. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the transmission, since owner feedback includes mixed reliability concerns in that area. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and signs of hard use, especially because this is a heavy-duty truck that may have spent its life towing or hauling.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 RAM 3500?

This is a moderate market for buyers, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,381 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.03% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $51,401, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $51,401 sits slightly below last year's $55,888.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also mean future resale gains are less likely in the near term. If you plan to sell later, the truck’s strong capability and upscale reputation should still help it hold interest among heavy-duty shoppers. Condition, mileage, and maintenance history will matter a lot when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

If you want a heavy-duty truck with strong owner approval, a softer price trend, and a healthy pool of listings, the 2022 is a smart primary target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a similar truck offers a lower entry point, but the 2022 stands out as a balanced choice for shoppers who want capability and comfort together.
