Is the 2022 Porsche Taycan a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the 2022 Taycan’s performance-first engineering, 800-volt architecture, and fast-charging capability make it appealing if you want an EV that feels more like a sports car than a conventional luxury sedan. The 2022 model year also added the Taycan GTS sedan and Taycan GTS Sport Turismo wagon, plus remote park assist, Android Auto, and improved thermal management and charging functions, which broaden its everyday usefulness. That said, it still carries the usual Taycan tradeoffs of average range and a higher price than many rivals. 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Porsche Taycan reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Taycan is described as a well-engineered EV built around Porsche’s handling, braking, and performance priorities, with updates that improve charging and day-to-day usability. Its appeal is strongest if you value a distinctive driving experience and premium execution. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained carefully and equipped the way you want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Porsche Taycan?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the car’s equipment matches what you want, since some safety features are standard while others are not. Put inspection priority on charging behavior, thermal-management-related operation, and overall condition, especially if the car has seen frequent fast charging or heavy use. Because the Taycan is a performance-focused EV, it’s worth paying close attention to how the car drives, charges, and presents in person.

That upward move suggests the market still values this model year, which can help support resale strength if you buy well and keep the car in good condition. If you choose a well-kept example with desirable equipment, you’re more likely to preserve buyer interest later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Porsche Taycan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.52% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $78,672, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $71,889 average.
• It adds broader versatility and stronger everyday appeal.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the better starting point if you want a strong mix of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2022 gives you a compelling way into the Taycan without paying the higher average associated with the next model year.
