With 285 currently listed for sale near Cincinnati, OH and an average price of $261,361.00, 28.4% of 2022 Porsche 911s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.

Why it stands out
The 2022 Porsche 911 stands out for blending approachable performance with everyday drivability. It has been the go-to sports car for over 50 years, and its performance has incrementally improved every aspect of this small coupe over the generations. That combination gives it broad appeal: it is fun to drive, comfortable, and wrapped in premium interior materials.
For buyers, the 2022 Porsche 911’s biggest strengths are the way it makes serious performance feel usable and the quality of its cabin. It is also a car that can work in daily life rather than feeling like a machine reserved only for special occasions. The tradeoffs are real, though: it does not offer much cargo space, advanced safety features are not standard, and it is poor value for money.

This is my dream car. It has the highest power and speed capabilities in the 911 line up but still great and comfortable for long drives or everyday trips to the market. I drove a 911 Carrera for many years so I was a little surprised it’s so much heavier than the Carrera, about 300lbs more. But it’s also double the horsepower. Needless to say I’m ecstatic to own a 911 Turbo S.

That fits the broader use case here: you’re getting a car that blends serious performance with comfort and premium cabin quality, rather than a weekend-only machine. With 31.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2022 Porsche 911 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable, with strong confidence in its performance and day-to-day usability over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the 911’s performance is approachable and doesn’t get in the way of everyday drivability, which supports the idea that it can be a car you count on regularly.
The ownership risk for used buyers is less about basic dependability and more about the cost of keeping a high-end sports car in top condition.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Porsche 911?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially because this is a premium sports car with a wide range of equipment and pricing. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the car has the options you want, since feature availability can vary by trim level. It’s also worth checking how the car was used, because performance cars can hide hard driving better than ordinary commuters.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base Carrera is the most stripped-down version, and advanced safety features are not standard. The optional Premium package adds adaptive headlights, a surround-view camera system, and blind-spot monitoring.
- Powertrain: The base Carrera uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged boxer-six with 379 horsepower. Carrera S models increase output to 443 hp, while the GTS brings 473 hp. An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission is offered on almost all models, and a seven-speed manual is available on S and GTS models.
- Safety package: Forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and lane-keep assist are standard on the base Carrera. The optional Premium package adds adaptive headlights, a surround-view camera system, and blind-spot monitoring.
- Infotainment: The touchscreen sits lower than in many cars, Apple CarPlay is wireless, Android Auto requires a USB cable, and the base audio system may disappoint. A Bose upgrade is available.
- Fuel efficiency: The dual-clutch transmission improves acceleration and fuel efficiency, while the manual is the more engaging choice.
Which 2022 Porsche 911 trim should I buy?
The 2022 Porsche 911 is offered in 10 trim levels: Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera S, Carrera 4S, Carrera GTS, Turbo, Turbo S, GT3, GT3 Touring, and Sport Classic.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The Carrera is the entry point, but it lacks the optional safety and convenience upgrades that make the car easier to live with.
- Sweet-spot trim: The Carrera S is the best value for most buyers because it adds meaningful performance without pushing you into the most expensive territory.
- Premium/top trim: The Turbo S is the most extreme road-going choice here, but it comes with a much higher price and is more car than most shoppers need.
- Off-road trim: The Sport Classic is the most niche choice and is best for enthusiasts rather than typical daily drivers.
The optional Premium package is the safety-package upgrade to look for if you want more confidence and convenience features.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Porsche 911?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting huge discounts everywhere.
- Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 906 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices are up 2.60% year-over-year.
- Clean inventory: 94.6% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $211,220.68, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Porsche 911's resale value?
The current average of $220,377 sits slightly above last year's $214,792.
That upward move suggests the market is still willing to pay for this model year, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. The 911’s strong reputation, premium cabin, and broad appeal help support demand, especially for well-kept examples. Pricing that remains above last year’s level also suggests the car is holding value better than a typical used sports car.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2022 Porsche 911 safe?
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
The 911 has not been evaluated by NHTSA or IIHS. Forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and lane-keep assist are standard on the base Carrera. The optional Premium package adds adaptive headlights, a surround-view camera system, and blind-spot monitoring, while other options include night vision and an integrated dashcam feature.
That means you should pay close attention to the exact equipment on any used example, because safety content varies by trim level and option package. Compared with conventional sedans and SUVs, the 911 offers relatively few safety features, so the presence or absence of those options matters more than usual.
Should I buy a 2022 Porsche 911 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices are up 2.60% year-over-year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2022 keeps the 911’s approachable performance and everyday drivability.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $216,333, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $220,377 average.
- It adds several new variants, including the Carrera T, GT3 RS, Sport Classic, and Dakar.
The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market momentum and broad used inventory, the 2022 is the safer shopping target. If your priority is paying less and getting the newer-year lineup expansion, the 2023 is worth a look.
