Used 2022 Nissan Frontier for Sale near Connecticut

How much does the 2022 Nissan Frontier cost?

Prices have softened 7.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,389 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Nissan Frontier earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10. Owners consistently praise its design, comfort, and power, and they also highlight the roomy cabin and upgraded interior. The Frontier’s appeal is strongest if you want a redesigned midsize pickup with updated styling, a comfortable cabin, and real off-road capability. The main trade-offs are heavy steering and poor fuel economy. Good and great deals account for 34.7% of listings, which suggests you still have room to shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. Owners also describe it as a solid upgrade with a dependable feel, and the review summary points to a truck that many drivers trust for its design, comfort, and power. The expert review also emphasizes the Frontier’s strong powertrain and its ability to handle highway passing and towing duties with confidence. Nissan’s maintenance-friendly ownership story is helped by the truck’s strong value proposition, including the way it bundles a lot of capability for the money. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that some shoppers still have mixed feelings about reliability compared with competitors, so a careful inspection matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Nissan Frontier?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a documented record. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on steering feel, cabin condition, and signs of hard use, especially if the truck was used for towing or off-road driving. If you’re comparing trims, pay close attention to which features are standard and which are reserved for higher trims or packages.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lowest-level S trim gets the standard 8-inch touchscreen, while the one-step-up SV also uses the 8-inch screen; the PRO-4X gets a 9-inch screen and the off-road-ready equipment, while the 2WD PRO-X keeps the styling cues but loses the locking differential and skid plates.
• Powertrain: The 3.8-liter V6 is rated at 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic and available rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Fuel economy is not a strength, with rear-wheel-drive models estimated at 18 mpg city and 24 highway, and four-wheel-drive models at 17/22/19.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a driver attention monitor, intelligent forward collision warning, trailer sway control, rear-door alert, and an easy-fill tire alert. The Technology Package adds blind-spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, rear automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: The lowest-level S and SV trims get an 8-inch touchscreen, while the PRO-4X gets a 9-inch screen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, but they require a wired connection, and wireless projection is not supported.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA estimates for rear-wheel-drive models are 18 mpg city, 24 highway, and 20 combined, while four-wheel-drive models are expected to return 17/22/19. The expert review also cites a 19-mpg combined fuel economy rating.

Which 2022 Nissan Frontier trim should I buy?

The 2022 Nissan Frontier is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, PRO-X, PRO-4X.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Frontier’s core redesign, standard safety tech, and the 8-inch touchscreen. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the new truck.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it keeps the same basic tech foundation while adding more everyday usability and available equipment. If you want a balanced mix of price and features, this is the trim to focus on.
• PRO-X: Choose this if you like the off-road-inspired look but do not need four-wheel drive. It keeps the styling cues of the more rugged model while dropping the hardware you may not need.
• PRO-4X: This is the trim to buy if you want the most capability and the most complete equipment set. It adds the off-road hardware, the 9-inch screen, and the strongest trail-focused setup in the lineup.

The Technology Package adds blind-spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, rear automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Nissan Frontier?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,389 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.41% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,151, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $26,151 sits slightly below last year's $28,245.

That softer pricing suggests the truck is currently more buyer-friendly than seller-friendly, which can make it easier for you to get in at a reasonable cost. For a future seller, the key implication is that resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim, since the market is already pricing in some depreciation. If you keep the truck clean, well-documented, and in a desirable configuration, you should be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Nissan Frontier safe?

The 2022 Nissan Frontier earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The new truck offers a bevy of standard advanced driver assistance systems under the umbrella of Nissan Safety Shield 360, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a driver attention monitor, intelligent forward collision warning, trailer sway control, rear-door alert, and an easy-fill tire alert. Eight airbags also come standard, and Nissan offers traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, rear sonar, and the other Technology Package features as optional equipment. Crash testing has not yet been completed for this model year, so you should lean more heavily on the standard safety equipment and the availability of added driver-assistance features when comparing trims.

Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings updated styling, a more comfortable cabin, and real off-road capability.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $31,513, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $26,151 average.
• It adds only minor tweaks and a few additional standard features.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2022 is the smarter buy because it delivers the redesigned Frontier experience at a lower average price. If you’re willing to pay more for a slightly newer example with minor updates, the 2023 is the secondary path for buyers who prioritize freshness over savings.
