overall

Summary
With 125 currently listed for sale near Nashville, TN and an average price of $46,537, 36.8% of 2022 Lincoln Navigators for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Lincoln Navigator 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.17 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2022 Lincoln Navigator stands out as Lincoln’s flagship model, and it brings a mix of design, comfort, and technology updates that help refresh the SUV’s appeal. Among large luxury SUVs, it is distinguished by its classically elegant design, robust towing capacity, and soothing comfort in all three rows of seats. Lincoln also made numerous changes for 2022 to update the Navigator’s styling, comfort, technology, safety, and driving dynamics, giving the facelift a role in keeping the SUV competitive against newer rivals.
That combination makes the 2022 Navigator appealing to buyers who want a full-size luxury SUV that emphasizes presence and refinement as much as capability. Its powerful engine and impressive technology add to the appeal, while the comfortable cabin remains a major strength. The tradeoffs are worth noting, though: the grille design may not suit everyone, the interior chrome can feel excessive, and voice recognition needs fine-tuning.

Great vehicle for what you pay for. Powertrain wise this is the same thing as the expedition minus tuning. Interior and exterior are the glamorized update for those who care for the luxury. I myself have a family of 5. Wife + 3 under two. We were looking for something we can grow with while riding with performance and luxury. I originally dead set on a Grand Wagoneer however. The features on it are great but not practical for kids in the back as the hvac ventilation is atrocious and it feels very “plastic”. Then was the Cadillac Escalade which we adored however they don’t have any bottom anchors in the rear seats. In fact all of the GM lineup from the suburban to the Denali doesn’t have bottom anchors in the 3rd row. Also in the Lincoln the second row seats can lean forward allowing easier access in the rear without removing the car seat which none of the other full size SUV’s can offer. Just for these two features alone we are choosing it over the other two. —— Cadillac I feel has better quality interior material and feel. Also the l86 + 10 speed is an amazing power platform. Wagoneer has better tech features, lacks in many other areas and the new I6 hasn’t been ran enough to find its shortcomings. Lincoln has more creature comfort and a mix between the two. 3.5 ecoboost platform is tried and tested, excellent platform with growing aftermarket support. The 22+ get the facelift, newer tech and motor refresh. Again another reason why we’re choosing the Lincoln.

Seat comfort is off the charts in the Navigator! Massaging seats work great. ActiveGlide is a nice addition for sure.

Is the 2022 Lincoln Navigator a good car?
Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated SUV with an expert rating of 8.17/10. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.
The 2022 Navigator’s appeal comes from its classically elegant design, robust towing capacity, and soothing comfort in all three rows. It also gets a meaningful refresh for the year, with updated styling, comfort, technology, safety, and driving dynamics that help it stay competitive against newer rivals.
The trade-offs are worth weighing: the grille design may not suit you, the interior chrome can feel excessive, and voice recognition needs fine-tuning. Even so, if you want a full-size luxury SUV that emphasizes presence and refinement as much as capability, this one fits that brief well.
With 35.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2022 Lincoln Navigator reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Navigator’s reliability case is supported by its strong comfort-focused design, robust powertrain, and updated driving dynamics. Its twin-turbo V6 delivers confident performance, and the revised suspension and brake hardware suggest Lincoln addressed some of the prior model’s rough edges.
The infotainment system also benefits from a newer interface and over-the-air update capability, which can help keep the vehicle current over time. Lincoln’s maintenance valet service is another ownership perk that adds convenience.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a large, complex luxury SUV can be expensive to keep in top shape if prior maintenance was inconsistent.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lincoln Navigator?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on electronics, suspension behavior, brake feel, and any signs of heavy wear from towing or family use. Pay close attention to cabin condition, since this SUV’s luxury materials and tech-heavy interior are a big part of what you’re paying for.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: Standard, Reserve, and Black Label are the trims explicitly called out here. The base setup already includes a 20-inch wheel design, while higher trims add more luxury content and, in the tested Black Label, a Central Park theme with a matching green interior and second-row heated, ventilated, and massaging captain’s chairs.
- Powertrain: You get a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with a 10-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. It makes 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque, and the setup is tuned for strong towing and confident highway performance.
- Safety package: New driver-assistance systems include Intersection Assist, Road Edge Detection, Active Park Assist 2.0, and ActiveGlide, and a surround-view camera system is newly standard. ActiveGlide is the hands-free highway system, while the other features add braking, lane-edge awareness, and parking help.
- Infotainment: The 13.2-inch Sync 4 touchscreen is a major upgrade, and it supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also offers over-the-air update capability, plus dual data panels for navigation and media.
- Fuel efficiency: The Navigator 4WD should return 18 mpg in combined driving, and the test vehicle averaged 18.6 mpg on the route described.
Which 2022 Lincoln Navigator trim should I buy?
The 2022 Lincoln Navigator is offered in 3 trim levels: Standard, Reserve, and Black Label.
Here's the short version:
- Standard: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the Navigator’s core strengths: the twin-turbo V6, the updated 13.2-inch Sync 4 screen, and the refreshed luxury-SUV presence. If you want the Navigator experience without chasing every luxury extra, this is the trim to start with.
- Reserve: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it sits in the middle and should give you the strongest balance of equipment and price. It’s the trim to target if you want more luxury content than the Standard without jumping all the way to the top.
- Black Label: Choose this if you want the most upscale presentation and are willing to pay for it. The tested Black Label added the Central Park theme, a matching green interior, and second-row heated, ventilated, and massaging captain’s chairs.
For safety equipment, the surround-view camera system is newly standard, and the new driver-assistance features are part of the 2022 update.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Lincoln Navigator?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.
- Deal availability: 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,096 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 14.83% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 83.4% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $48,531, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Lincoln Navigator's resale value?
The current average of $48,531 sits slightly below last year's $56,979.
That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, the key implication is that resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.
Because this is a high-end SUV with strong demand for comfort and capability, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2022 Lincoln Navigator safe?
The 2022 Lincoln Navigator earns Good marks from IIHS testing and five-star ratings from NHTSA.
It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Several new driver-assistance systems debut on the 2022 Navigator, including Intersection Assist, Road Edge Detection, Active Park Assist 2.0, and ActiveGlide. A surround-view camera system is also newly standard, which helps with maneuvering a vehicle this large.
ActiveGlide is the hands-free highway system, but it still requires your attention at all times. The main caveat is that some of the new technologies are impressive but not foolproof, so you should treat them as aids rather than replacements for active driving.
Should I buy a 2022 Lincoln Navigator or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 14.83% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2022 refresh adds updated styling, technology, safety, and driving dynamics.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $39,474, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $48,531 average.
- It feels like a luxury apartment with a quiet cabin and premium materials.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $56,240, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $48,531 average.
- It adds spacious third-row comfort and strong towing capability.
The bottom line: If you want the best mix of updated tech, comfort, and market pricing, the 2022 is the smart default. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 can save you money, while the 2023 makes sense only if you’re willing to pay more for a newer model-year step up.
