What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia Soul?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks for signs of prior damage, incomplete recall work, and uneven wear. • Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,761 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.61% compared with last year.

What is the 2022 Kia Soul's resale value?

The current average of $14,740 sits slightly below last year's $15,955.

That price movement suggests the Soul has become more accessible for buyers, which can help you if you are shopping now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. The current market still supports the model’s value story, though future resale will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and documentation. If you keep the vehicle clean, well maintained, and free of accident history, you should be in a better position when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Soul or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $13,766, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $14,740 average.
• It keeps the Soul’s useful shape and value-focused appeal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $17,013, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $14,740 average.
• It adds more standard driver-assist features.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2022 if you want the best balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 is the better value-first alternative, while the 2023 makes sense if you want the newer feature set and can spend more.
