Used 2022 Hyundai Elantra for Sale nearCincinnati, OH

How much does the 2022 Hyundai Elantra cost?

Prices have softened 7.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,643 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Hyundai Elantra earns a 4.57/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its excellent value, fuel efficiency, safety features, stylish design, and impressive warranty coverage. That lines up with the overview: you get a roomy cabin, strong standard tech, and a bargain-priced compact sedan that feels more upscale than many rivals.

The main trade-offs are the underwhelming base engine, uncomfortable seats, and cabin noise. In practical terms, this is a smart pick if you want a lot of content for the money, but you should be sure the driving feel and seat comfort work for your daily routine.

The market also looks supportive, with 38.1% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers repeatedly highlighting value, fuel economy, safety features, and the kind of long-term appeal that makes the car easy to recommend. The expert review also emphasizes top-notch product quality and an industry-leading warranty, which reinforces the sense that this is built to be a low-stress ownership choice.

You also get three years of complimentary maintenance, which helps reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been cared for properly, since condition will matter more than the model’s strong reputation.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Hyundai Elantra?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if the car has higher mileage or visible wear. Focus on seat condition, cabin noise, and how the car feels on a test drive, since comfort and refinement are the main compromises in this model year.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE, SEL, N Line, and Limited each bring different equipment levels, and the base trim is the most stripped-down starting point. The Limited stands out for its richer cabin presentation and upgraded tech, while the N Line adds sportier styling and a more performance-oriented feel.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder with CVT and front-wheel drive is adequate, but it can feel short on power during hard acceleration. The N Line’s turbocharged 1.6-liter engine and available dual-clutch transmission deliver the strongest driving response.
• Safety package: The standard SmartSense suite includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, and lane-centering assistance. Higher trims make features such as adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, rear automatic braking, and Highway Drive Assist available.
• Infotainment: The base setup includes an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Radio, Bluetooth, four speakers, and dual USB ports. Higher trims add a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation, but that larger screen uses wired smartphone integration.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA combined fuel economy ranges from 37 mpg on the SE to 28 mpg on the N Line with the manual transmission, while the Hybrid Blue reaches 54 mpg and the Hybrid Limited returns 50 mpg.

Which 2022 Hyundai Elantra trim should I buy?

The 2022 Hyundai Elantra is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, N Line, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry price and still want strong standard safety and tech, including wireless smartphone integration and the core SmartSense suite.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more speakers, satellite radio, Blue Link connected services, and access to useful options without jumping to the pricier upper trims.
• N Line: Choose this if you want the most engaging driving experience, with the turbocharged engine, sport-tuned suspension, and a more athletic chassis setup.
• Limited: This is the trim to buy if you want the most upscale Elantra experience, with the larger touchscreen, navigation, Bose audio, digital gauge cluster, wireless charging, and the most complete feature set.

The Limited is also the trim that gets the better headlight rating in the safety testing notes.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Hyundai Elantra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,643 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,921, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra's resale value?

The current average of $16,921 sits slightly below last year's $18,237.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may pressure future resale returns if you plan to sell soon. If you buy at the right price now, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later.

The good news is that strong value, broad appeal, and efficient ownership costs can help keep demand steady. Well-equipped examples in clean condition should hold up better than rougher cars with visible wear or missing features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra safe?

The 2022 Hyundai Elantra earns five-star ratings overall from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in front crash protection and five-star ratings in side crash protection and rollover resistance. It also earns top "Good" ratings from IIHS in all six of its individual crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard SmartSense suite includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, and lane-centering assistance. It also adds driver-attention warning, automatic high-beam headlights, a rear-seat reminder system, and Safe Exit Warning.

Higher trims make features such as intersection turn assistance, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, rear automatic braking, and Highway Drive Assist available. One caveat: lower-level SE, SEL, and N Line trims with halogen headlights received a Marginal IIHS headlight rating, while the Limited’s LED headlights earned a Good rating.

Should I buy a 2022 Hyundai Elantra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines strong safety tech, excellent fuel economy, and standout value.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $15,733, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $16,921 average.
• It emphasizes style, space, and a more upscale-feeling compact-car package.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $18,963, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $16,921 average.
• It broadens the lineup with more versatility across basic, hybrid, and sporty versions.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, safety, and features, the 2022 is the sweet spot. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 can save you money while keeping the same basic appeal. If you want a newer-year alternative and are willing to pay more, the 2023 adds broader lineup flexibility.
