How much does the 2022 Ford Mustang cost?

Prices are up 3.46% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,749 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2022 Ford Mustang a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Ford Mustang earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its performance, handling, and styling, and many also like the manual transmission option and the fun driving experience it delivers. That lines up well with the Mustang’s role as a performance-focused coupe or convertible for shoppers who want something engaging rather than purely practical. With 34.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Ford Mustang reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also describes the Mustang as a car people enjoy living with over time, especially when it comes to performance and the driving experience. The recurring praise for its fun factor and strong overall appeal suggests many owners feel confident sticking with it. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t been modified in ways that could complicate future repairs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Ford Mustang?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report and confirm the car’s accident and title status before anything else. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the drivetrain, transmission behavior, and overall wear, since condition matters more than mileage alone on a performance car. It also helps to focus on how the car was used and maintained, especially if you’re considering a higher-performance example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Mustang?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,749 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.46% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 75.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,449, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Ford Mustang's resale value?

The current average of $34,002 sits slightly above last year's $32,863.

That upward movement suggests the Mustang is holding buyer interest well in the used market. If prices continue to stay firm, sellers may benefit from relatively steady demand, especially for clean examples with desirable equipment. Strong condition and a good ownership history should help support a stronger asking price when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.46% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $30,492, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $34,002 average.
• It blends retro style with modern tech and a broad trim lineup.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2022 if you want the stronger current-market mix of satisfaction, inventory, and deal availability. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2021 is the better value path and still gives you the Mustang’s core appeal.
