Summary
With 4,051 currently listed for sale and an average price of $37,761, 33.3% of 2022 Ford Broncos for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.

Why it stands out
The 2022 Ford Bronco stands out because it delivers serious off-road ability without giving up everyday drivability. Ford’s deep roster of Bronco models means there’s one for almost any skill level and a wide range of budgets, and the Bronco is described as being as off-road capable as the Jeep Wrangler while being significantly better to drive on pavement. That combination makes it appealing to buyers who want a rugged SUV that can still feel manageable on the road.
It also brings practical strengths that broaden its appeal, including multiple body styles and plenty of cargo space. At the same time, it is not without drawbacks: advanced safety features are not standard, and its safety scores are middling. The Bronco’s popularity is another part of its story, since it was already sold out for 2022.

Definitely over priced!! Kind of generic plastic inside. The 4 cylinder turbo is under powered- definitely find a v6 turbo. Rides smoothly. Very weak sound system .. don’t know how Bang and Olufsem sounds. Manual seats are pretty annoying. Hard top was $5k n totally plastic. It’s cool to own a Bronco but for the money , you should get a loaded Wrangler. It is way better priced and way better options - but …. They are 20 to 1 on the road wranglers to Broncos

I’ve owned two Jeep Wranglers and the Bronco puts them to shame. Excellent ride, steering, suspension and handling. The vehicle is comfortable, roomy and a much better vehicle for daily driving versus the Wrangler. The soft top is quick and simple to lower and appears to be of good quality and the visibility is excellent through all windows thanks to the frameless doors that are a breeze to remove. This is the best vehicle I’ve ever owned!

How much does the 2022 Ford Bronco cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $37,737 |
| Year-Round Low | $37,737 |
| Year-Round High | $41,475 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $41,473 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −9.01% |
Prices have softened 9.01% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 4,053 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare trims and equipment.
Is the 2022 Ford Bronco a good car?
Yes — you’re looking at a 4.5/5 model from owners, and the expert rating is 8/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.
Owners consistently praise its off-road capability, stylish design, comfort, tech features, and spaciousness. The Bronco also fits a wide range of buyers because it offers multiple body styles and a broad spread of configurations.
The trade-offs are that it can feel overpriced to some shoppers and too many essential features are optional. That matters most if you want a more complete SUV without adding packages.
If you want a rugged SUV that still feels manageable on pavement, this year’s Bronco lines up well with that use case. 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.
Is the 2022 Ford Bronco reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable, with strong enthusiasm around its performance and off-road capability. The Bronco’s rugged design and broad appeal also suggest it’s built for buyers who plan to keep using it hard over time.
The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Bronco is engineered for capability while still behaving well on pavement, which supports confidence in everyday use. Ford also notes that the available systems function as advertised, with no false alarms or glitches.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic competence and more about how previous owners treated a vehicle that was often bought for demanding use.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Ford Bronco?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the Bronco was used for trail driving or modified. Focus on wear, signs of hard use, and whether the vehicle’s equipment matches the trim and package mix you expect.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The lineup ranges from the base two-door model to the Everglades, with off-road capability increasing as you move up. Base-trim buyers should pay close attention to feature gaps, since advanced safety equipment is not standard.
- Powertrain: You can choose between a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder and an optional turbocharged 2.7-liter V6. The four-cylinder can be paired with a seven-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic, while the V6 uses the automatic.
- Safety package: Frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams are available on all but the base trim as part of the optional Mid package. Front parking sensors and a surround-view camera system are offered with the High package, while the Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.
- Infotainment: The Bronco uses Sync 4 with quick responses and sharp graphics. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and a wireless charging pad is available.
- Fuel efficiency: The two-door with the base four-cylinder is estimated at 20 mpg city, 21 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined. The V6 ranges as low as 17 mpg combined, depending on trim and package.
Which 2022 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?
The 2022 Ford Bronco is offered in 7 trim levels: Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, Everglades.
Here's the short version:
- Base: This is the entry point if you want the Bronco’s core off-road hardware at the lowest price, but you should expect the fewest standard convenience and safety features. It makes the most sense if you plan to build it up carefully.
- Big Bend: This is the first step up for shoppers who want a more rounded daily driver without jumping too far in price. It’s a sensible value choice if you want more flexibility than the base model.
- Black Diamond: This trim leans harder into trail use and is a better fit if you want a Bronco that feels more purpose-built without going all the way to the upper end of the range.
- Outer Banks: This is the better pick if you care more about comfort and style while still wanting Bronco capability. It suits buyers who want a more polished version of the SUV.
- Badlands: This is the strongest choice for serious off-road shoppers who want a more capable setup without moving into the specialty models. It’s the trim to target if trail performance matters most.
- Wildtrak: This is the high-capability, high-price choice for buyers who want one of the most accomplished Broncos in the lineup. It’s for you if you want maximum off-road hardware and are willing to pay for it.
- Everglades: This is the most specialized trim in the standard lineup, with swamp and water-focused equipment that makes it stand out from the rest. It’s the right pick if you want the most distinctive factory-built adventure setup.
The safety-package note to keep in mind is that advanced driver-assistance features are not standard on the base trim.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Bronco?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.
- Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 4,053 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.01% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 90.4% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $37,737, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Ford Bronco's resale value?
The current average of $37,737 sits slightly below last year's $41,473.
That price movement suggests the market has cooled from a stronger prior-year level, which can help you as a buyer but may temper what a future seller can expect. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to the earlier average.
The Bronco’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand over time. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2022 Ford Bronco safe?
The 2022 Ford Bronco earns Good ratings from IIHS in frontal, side, and roof strength tests, and Acceptable in head restraints and seats. The four-door also earns four-star ratings for frontal crash protection from NHTSA, while both the four- and two-door Broncos earn three-star rollover ratings.
It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard safety features include hill-start assist, hill descent control, and trailer sway control. Frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams are available on all but the base trim as part of the optional Mid package. Front parking sensors and a surround-view camera system are offered with the High package, while the Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.
The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you’ll want to verify package content carefully on any used example.
Should I buy a 2022 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.01% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It combines serious off-road ability with better pavement manners than many rivals.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $36,788, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $37,737 average.
- It emphasizes capability, everyday usability, and a strong off-road focus.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $41,767, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $37,737 average.
- It adds more model variety and keeps the Bronco’s rugged, highway-friendly character.
The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, availability, and broad appeal, the 2022 is the smart default. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2021 can save you money while keeping the same core mission. If you want to spend more for a newer alternative, the 2023 is the next step up.
