Summary
With 335 currently listed for sale and an average price of $34,224, 22.7% of 2022 Dodge Challenger listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Dodge Challenger 4.72 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2022 Dodge Challenger stands out as a modern muscle car that keeps a classic formula alive. It is part of the Challenger’s third generation, a long-running design that was largely unchanged over the years but kept fresh with a variety of powertrains, head-turning colors, numerous special editions, and a 2015 facelift. It was also built to compete with the Ford Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro, and its appeal comes from that mix of old-school attitude and broad performance variety.
For 2022, the Challenger’s strengths include its user-friendly Uconnect infotainment system with a touchscreen, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay, along with a practical five-passenger cabin. It was designed on a platform suitable for both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, and the model offered a wide range of Pentastar V6 and Hemi V8 engines, plus manual and automatic transmissions. Performance-minded shoppers could also find features such as adaptive suspension, launch control, Brembo brakes, and Mopar tuning options, while special editions added visual flair through spoilers, hood scoops, unique fascia and grille designs, special upholstery, and distinctive badging.
There are tradeoffs, though. The Challenger’s size and long production run meant many examples were neglected or abused, and some model years in this generation are known for engine problems. Even so, the 2022 Challenger remains appealing for buyers who want a muscle car with strong personality, lots of configuration choices, and a cabin that blends retro style with modern tech.

I have had 3 challengers v-6,Daytona 392 scat pack and now the hellcat. What I like is the auto stick option and the paddles ,it’s not manual but it’s as close to it as possible.I owned a 2023 Shelby and it wasn’t manual either but it had a turn knob and also paddles and in comparison I think they’re pretty much the same I like the fact that the hellcat has a few more options the set.pack etc.and it’s roomier also. The power is definitely there and the roaring is fun to hear. I wish I could test drive a redeye and a demon just for comparison, but the hellcat is awesome in my opinion.

Reviewed a 2022 Dodge Challenger on Jun 12, 2024
Challenger Hellcats are purchased primarily for the powerful engines. The car also has most features you would expect in a performance automobile: AC, nice stereo, power adjustable drivers seat. 2023 was the last year for the Hellcats and Hemi engines. Cars 2 to 3 years or older with low mileage may be great values. These cars are heavier than most other sports cars and not as nimble on curves but straight line speed is impressive with the Hellcats. Others to consider would be the Corvette and Mustang.

Is the 2022 Dodge Challenger reliable?
Owners rate it 4.72/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a car people tend to enjoy over time because it feels dependable in daily use and delivers the kind of performance they can count on. That said, used buyers should still focus on maintenance history and overall condition, since long-term ownership risk depends heavily on how each example was treated.

You should prioritize a history report first, then inspect the car closely for signs of hard use, neglect, or prior damage. A careful pre-purchase inspection matters most if you want to avoid surprises after purchase.

Demand should remain supported by the Challenger's strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.72/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2022 Dodge Challenger or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.72/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $31,492, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $33,547 average.
- It emphasizes straight-line speed and performance value.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $43,045, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $33,547 average.
- It adds final-year special editions and more power.
The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around starting point if you want strong owner satisfaction, stable pricing, and a broad used-market selection. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better secondary path; if you want the most dramatic sendoff and can stretch your budget, the 2023 is the premium alternative.
