Is the 2022 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Chevrolet Trax earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong shopper satisfaction. The overview describes it as a small, affordable crossover with a compact footprint, easy maneuverability, and useful everyday space, making it a practical fit if you want a simple subcompact SUV. Is the 2022 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests the Trax’s appeal comes from its simple layout, compact size, and everyday usefulness rather than complexity. That can be a plus for used buyers who want a straightforward vehicle, but you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition because older, simpler models can show wear in the basics.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Trax?

At 69.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership history before you commit. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive, because condition can vary widely in a market with mixed history. Focus on signs of wear in the body, interior, and mechanical basics so you know whether the savings are worth it.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $15,669 sits slightly below last year's $18,044.

That price decline suggests the Trax has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintain the vehicle well, you may be better positioned when it comes time to sell. The current market also shows enough demand to support resale, especially for cleaner examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $12,863, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $15,669 average.
• It emphasizes approachable pricing and easy-to-use technology.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the better pick if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and buyer satisfaction. If your top priority is spending less upfront, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the Trax’s core city-friendly appeal.
