How much does the 2022 Chevrolet Trax cost?

There are 629 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. The 2022 Trax is described as a compact, budget-friendly subcompact SUV that emphasizes maneuverability, affordability, and a higher seating position, with a straightforward layout and decent fuel economy. It is especially appealing if you want practical daily transportation rather than something powerful or upscale. With 30.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Trax is presented as a familiar value play with available safety equipment that grew over time, but it also has clear limitations, including sparse early safety features and faster depreciation than some rivals. For used buyers, that means reliability may be less about standout durability claims and more about finding a well-kept example with a clean history and consistent maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Trax?

At 72.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body condition, signs of uneven wear, and whether the vehicle has been maintained consistently. Because this model year is positioned as a practical value buy, condition matters a lot when you compare similarly priced listings.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Trax?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 629 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.44% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 72.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,753, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $15,753 sits slightly below last year's $18,199.

That price decline suggests the Trax has already moved down the curve in a way that can help buyers today, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at the right number and keep the vehicle in good condition, you may reduce some of the resale pressure created by the model's softer market trend. Strong demand for affordable, easy-to-live-with crossovers can still help support trade-in interest.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.44% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $13,002, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $15,753 average.
• It offers easy-to-use technology and a maneuverable footprint.

The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is minimizing upfront cost, the 2021 is the better value-focused alternative, especially if you can accept its older-year tradeoffs.
