Is the 2022 BMW 7 Series a good car?

Yes — 4.7/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. The 2022 BMW 7 Series stands out as a full-size luxury sedan with advanced technology and a wide range of powertrains, including mild hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and an all-electric model. It also aims to balance comfort and capability with features like rear-wheel drive or xDrive all-wheel drive, a large digital display setup, wireless smartphone integration, a head-up display, quad-zone climate control, front seat massagers, and a panoramic glass roof. 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2022 BMW 7 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 BMW 7 Series is built around a broad mix of powertrains and a sophisticated chassis, which points to a highly engineered luxury sedan. Its appeal comes from combining innovation with BMW’s sporting character, but that complexity can make upkeep and ownership more demanding than a simpler used car. For a used buyer, the main long-term risk is that advanced systems and expensive options can raise repair and maintenance costs if the car has been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 BMW 7 Series?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report to confirm accident status, title history, and service records. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the electronics, suspension, and comfort features, since this model leans heavily on advanced equipment. Focus on overall condition and how well the car’s luxury systems work, because those items matter a lot in a used flagship sedan.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 BMW 7 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 673 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.83% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,823, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 BMW 7 Series's resale value?

The current average of $41,886 sits slightly below last year's $49,177.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For future resale, the key question is whether the car stays desirable as a luxury flagship with broad powertrain appeal and strong equipment. A well-kept example with the right options should remain easier to market than one with visible wear or neglected maintenance.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
